History has officially been rewritten at Glenpark on last Sunday. For the first time since 2003, the Western Cup T20 trophy is coming home to Renfrew Cricket Club!

After the heart-wrenching defeat in last year’s final, the squad returned to the 2026 campaign with unmatched determination, grit, and belief. That hunger paid off in spectacular fashion as Renfrew 2nd team has delivered a clinical postseason run to reclaim the silverware and cement their place at the top of local T20 cricket.

A Victory Built on Depth, Unity, and Tactical Mastery

This triumph was no accident, it was the result of total squad harmony, blending seasoned experience with ruthless ex*****on. Throughout the tournament, Renfrew proved to be the most complete side in the competition, leaning on tactical discipline and clutch individual performances whenever the pressure escalated.

Leading from the front was 𝘾𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙡 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙧𝙖, who delivered a true captain’s campaign. Operating as the tournament's standout all-rounder, Chopra anchored the middle order with 84 crucial runs, ranking as the club's second-highest run-scorer, while simultaneously wreaking havoc with the ball, claiming 7 wickets. His leadership, astute bowling changes, and ability to deliver in tight moments set the standard for the entire squad.

Finishing as the tournament's leading run-scorer with 179 total runs, highlighted by a stunning 101 against Vale of Leven, his consistency gave Renfrew the ideal foundation in every match.

The legendary campaigner finished as the highest wicket-taker with 𝟵 𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀, but his most staggering metric was his economy rate. By winning the UK Championship, the Scotland Chargers have officially qualified for the Core Global Champions Trophy in Dubai this December 2026! 🌍🏆
