A great start to our ‘Great Escape’ project.

Our Welcome To Our Woods, Woodland Therapy volunteers were going to be welcoming NHS front line workers into the woods to take part in our Woodland Therapy sessions for some well needed rest bite. But because of COVID restrictions we come up with a remote version.

22 NHS staff have received a Woodland Therapy self care toolbox, a pdf booklet of outdoor activities for relaxation and a weekly fun get together on zoom, including mindfulness and Zumba.

This is a great story as people who were firstly referred to Woodland Therapy as NHS patients have now become volunteers and are helping hard working NHS staff relax, recharge and improve their own mental health.

If the NHS staff are fitter and healthier themselves they can carry on doing the fantastic job of caring for the nation #supportingthenhs #togetherwearestronger #healthiswealth #community #woodlandtherapy #volunteering #givingback

Great to see how The Play Yard has diversified during the pandemic to support the community.

Plus keeping the facility running so it will still be there when this is over.

We was happy to help out with delivering the lunchboxes last summer, that project put smiles on so many young faces.

We have missed delivering Cycle Tots and the walking rugby at the Play Yard.

Well done Nathan and the team 👏👏👏#community #togetherstronger

A fab first Woodland Therapy Self Care Toolbox session last night with 22 NHS staff.

As part of the Great Escape project funded by Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru / Natural Resources Wales our Woodland Therapy team have put together a digital toolbox version of what we do in the woods at our weekly sessions.

Many of our Woodland Therapy participants who have been referred as patients of the NHS have stayed on as volunteers so it’s a great story that patients are now helping NHS front line staff to destress and improve their own health and well-being.

We need to keep the NHS staff themselves as fit and healthy as possible so they can keep on doing a great job caring for us.

The Woodland Therapy Toolbox includes...
• a self care toolbox inc aromatherapy set by Tina Maria Davies, woodcarving set by Adrian Meredith and Beebombs wild flower seeds.
• a digital booklet with advice and videos by our volunteers of different outdoor mindful activities.
• a weekly zoom meeting and fun Zumba class with our volunteer Cheryl Lindsay.
• a mindful meditation at end.

A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from everyone at Welcome To Our Woods 🎅🏻😀🎄

That’s quite a lot of people, from our staff, board of directors, volunteers, contractors, partner organisations, community participants and of course our funders

We would like to say a special thanks to everyone who has volunteered their time and helped us help others through a difficult year.

Local people have volunteered their time to a number of activities from the woodworking workshop at the library, gardening at the allotment, woodland management, health and well-being activities, teambuilding events, the green care team. 😀👍

All our volunteers got a Xmas thank you goodie bag, here are some of our Woodland Therapy and Social Strollers volunteers in their new Xmas T-shirt’s.

We hope you have the best Christmas possible. Stay positive and stay safe.

Let’s focus on what we can do and be thankful for the good things we still have. #merrychristmas #staypositive #staysafe #togetherwearestronger

Welcome To Our Woods

As a project that has received National Lottery funding, you’re part of an incredible network of more than 110,000 organisations who change lives every day – and whose work is supported by the National Lottery players.

On Thursday 19 November 2020, the National Lottery’s birthday, we would like to say a huge “thank you” to National Lottery players for their colossal contribution to good causes across the UK, and you’re invited to take part.

On Thursday 19 November we would like you to share a crossed-finger selfie on Twitter to say thanks to National Lottery players, using #ThanksToYou and #NationalLottery.

It’s easy to join in. We are asking you to rally your supporters – including any of your volunteers, staff, service users - with a very simple ask:

• Share your crossed finger selfie on the 19th November 2020
• Include a message about how National Lottery players have helped your organisation, and say thank you to National Lottery players by using the hashtags #ThanksToYou and #NationalLottery.

Make sure you tag The National Lottery Community Fund in your message (@TNLComFundWales, @CronGymYLG) we can then share your message so that others can see the amazing work you do

As well as being an iconic symbol of The National Lottery, crossed fingers are a symbol of hope - helping people to make the connection between the game, and the good causes it supports.

And finally, we want you to be safe, so we’d ask that you respect the social distancing rules when taking your selfies too.

Using the hashtag #ThanksToYou and #NationalLottery will also boost your social media and brand visibility on the day and give more people the chance to hear about your project.

Together, we can make sure the public know how playing The National Lottery makes a difference to good causes all over the UK .

We are extremely grateful for your support, and for all that you have done to help your community over the past 26 years. Let’s shout about it together!

Happy Crossed Fingers Day!

The National Lottery Community Fund

Fel prosiect sydd wedi derbyn a***n gan y Loteri Genedlaethol, rydych yn rhan o rwydwaith anhygoel o fwy na 110,000 o sefydliadau sy'n newid bywydau bob dydd – ac y mae eu gwaith yn cael ei gefnogi gan chwaraewyr y Loteri Genedlaethol.

Ar ddydd Iau 19 Tachwedd 2020, sef pen-blwydd y Loteri Genedlaethol, hoffem ddweud "diolch" enfawr i chwaraewyr y Loteri Genedlaethol am eu cyfraniad aruthrol i achosion da ledled y DU, ac fe'ch gwahoddir i gymryd rhan.

Ar ddydd Iau 19 Tachwedd hoffem i chi rannu hunlun croesi bysedd ar Twitter i ddweud diolch i chwaraewyr y Loteri Genedlaethol gan ddefnyddio #DiolchIChi a #LoteriGenedlaethol.

Mae'n hawdd ymuno. Rydym yn gofyn i chi gasglu eich cefnogwyr – gan gynnwys unrhyw un o'ch gwirfoddolwyr, staff, defnyddwyr gwasanaeth - gyda gofyn syml iawn:

• Rhannwch eich hunlun croesi bysedd ar 19eg Tachwedd 2020
• Dylech gynnwys neges am sut mae chwaraewyr y Loteri Genedlaethol wedi helpu eich sefydliad, a dweud diolch i chwaraewyr y Loteri Genedlaethol drwy ddefnyddio'r hashnodau #DiolchIChi a #LoteriGenedlaethol.

Sicrhewch eich bod yn tagio Cronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol yn eich neges (@CronGymYLG, @TNLComFundWales) gallwn wedyn rannu eich neges fel y gall eraill weld y gwaith anhygoel a wnewch

Yn ogystal â bod yn symbol eiconig o'r Loteri Genedlaethol, mae croesi bysedd yn symbol o obaith - gan helpu pobl i wneud y cysylltiad rhwng y gêm, a'r achosion da y mae'n eu cefnogi.

Ac yn olaf, rydym am i chi fod yn ddiogel, felly byddem yn gofyn i chi barchu'r rheolau ymbellhau cymdeithasol wrth gymryd eich hunlun hefyd.

Bydd defnyddio’r hashnodau #DiolchIChi a #LoteriGenedlaethol hefyd yn rhoi hwb i'ch cyfryngau cymdeithasol a'ch gwelededd brand ar y diwrnod ac yn rhoi cyfle i fwy o bobl glywed am eich prosiect.

Gyda'n gilydd, gallwn sicrhau bod y cyhoedd yn gwybod sut mae chwarae’r Loteri Genedlaethol yn gwneud gwahaniaeth i achosion da ledled y DU.
Rydym yn hynod ddiolchgar am eich cefnogaeth, ac am bopeth rydych wedi'i wneud i helpu eich cymuned dros y 26 mlynedd diwethaf. Beth am weiddi amdano gyda'n gilydd!

Diwrnod Croesi Bysedd Hapus!
