Since running my last class in March, prior to first lockdown, I must say I didn’t feel I missed it too much. I have busied myself with the day job and exams. However, running around in the homegym earlier doing Insanity to one of the favourite class soundtracks, I had a moment where I thought “Man, I would love to be shouting instructions to people right now!”
😂 !?

It suitable for all fitness levels and it's all about progress rather than being expected to be an athlete from the outset. No matter what your fitness level, come and give it a try

There is absolutely no other way to do Fitmas properly, than by doing Insanity!
It make me want to 🤮 at the time, but now I feel amazing! That is what fitness should do every time of the year! 💪🏼

Something strange is happening....I’ve been running again 😱 Stranger still, I really enjoyed it 😱😱 Think the Running Punks threads are inspiring my mojo!
Always finish with hill sprints as extra torture, but with a good tune to push me up there like it’s a travelator 🤘🏼🏃🏼♀️

I’m not a natural runner (I’m sure I’ve said this before) but runners do inspire me. I used to do long distances, fast times etc, etc and my mind does find it difficult to let go of that. I ran 4.5 miles today, which I’m proud of. I tried to ignore the watch, but was still secretly happy to see my miles were all sub 9ers....not that it matters to anyone but me.
My brother in law runs the online running community ‘Running Punks’ and they have a great ethos of just getting out there and running. Encouraging you to just run, forget times, let the pavement pound your stresses away under your feet. You should check them out on all their social media platforms and their website for kit.
I don’t think I will be/or ever intend to be a runner and nothing else for the rest of my training life, but if I can be a little more Running punk on the runs I do, I’ll be happy
Having a busy life can make it easy to find a reason to sacrifice a workout. I do it myself. But, even a short workout can give you the boost you may need to push on through your day.
EMOM - 10 mins
8 x Rope slams
8 x Shrugs
8 x sn**ch and press
EMOM 2 - 10 mins
8 x ball slams
8 x dumbbell shoulder press
8 x bicep curl
EMOM 3 - 10 mins
10 x Burpee
10 x switch kicks
10 x pike jumps
I finished with x 3 hill sprints. Just about 40 mins of work, but ready to crack on with some revising now!

Hi all, hope you’re all well and are still ticking over/thrashing the workouts?!
A periodic drop in, as promised, from me. I’ve been maintaining my more or less daily workouts x 6 a week. Took a couple of days off whilst on hols but also tried some portable equipment whilst we were away, that did the job!
Today I ventured out and did my first road run in what feels like forever....it may actually be the first one I’ve done this year in fact.
I’m not a ‘runner’ anymore. I used to pound the miles out and enter the odd event, but age doesn’t come alone and I do have to listen to my body (knees) these days. So, a local 3.41 miles was done and achieved in 29.40. I know I shouldn’t be bothered about the timings as it’s an achievement just to get out there, but I’m happy with sub 9 min miles. I feel that’s acceptable for me 😂 (Competitive to the end!)
In short, it’s just good to get out there and do something! I can’t ever see me running half marathons or OCR’s ever again in my life, but I’m happy to be able to run round the block and not feel like I’m dying at the end.
Whatever distance you manage, whatever pace....it’s still better than sitting with your feet up in the sofa and do nothing at all. Be proud of yourself for even getting yourself out there and don’t allow yourself to feel judged by seasoned runners (or gym goers in the same vein!) The only person allowed to judge you is YOU! 💪🏼🏃🏼♀️
