🏏 Rain ruled the weekend — but Ricky still found a way!
The 2s pulled off a brilliant smash-and-grab against Clifton in a race against the weather. Bev (5-8) and Goose (4 wkts) shared the entire innings between them to skittle Clifton for next to nothing. Yash then went big early, smashing three boundaries in the first four balls, before Hassan sealed it in style with a boundary to wrap the chase inside just 4 overs in the drizzle 🌧️
The 3s had Pinner pinned down for 15 overs before the rain stepped in, while the 4s were nicely placed at 92/3 (Pras 41, Paul 24) when the weather called time. The 1s and 5s never made it out, but the 1st XI stay top of Div 3A and the 3s remain joint-top — momentum well intact 🔝
On Sunday, a strong side travelled to Watford Town and dug out 137 on a sticky one — Billy May leading the way with 48. Bev kept his weekend rolling with 3 wkts, before Harvey and Rameez ripped through the tail to seal a second win on the bounce for Ronesh’s team 💪
Fingers crossed for clearer skies next weekend ☀️

🌧️ GAME WEEK 5 🌧️
Another big weekend ahead for Rickmansworth Cricket Club as all five Saturday sides are back in action.
The 1XI travel to Welwyn Garden City, looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season and hold on to top spot in the table. Just one change this week, with Ronak returning from Cambridge University and coming straight back into the side.
The 2XI are at home against Clifton CC, looking to build on last week’s performance and keep the pressure on the teams above them.
The 3XI head to Pinner, still unbeaten and sitting third in the table after a brilliant start to the campaign. They’ll be looking to keep that run going and continue climbing the standings.
Elsewhere, the 4XI take on Harpenden, while the 5XI also face Pinner as another busy weekend awaits for the club.
The forecast isn’t looking particularly friendly, with rain threatening games across the county all day. Fingers crossed we get enough breaks in the weather for some cricket. If not, I’m sure we’ll still find somewhere local to discuss what might have been over a few beers 🍻
Good luck to everyone pulling on a Rickmansworth shirt this weekend. Hopefully we’ll be talking about runs, wickets and wins by Saturday evening

!!!!! Fantasy week 4 !!!!!
It’s been some week for Billy May - he scored 59no, the 1s remained unbeaten, the post game beers flowed. However none of these would have brought a smile to his face quite like seeing his fantasy dashboard: top of the league (1490pts), TotW and a big self-captaincy (214pts)!!!
I promise that the fight at the bottom of the pile is hotting up - Ivy (487pts) is still in position for wooden spoon but he’s only 39 behind Nassar (526pts) 👀.
Performance of the week came from Azeem (141pts), who made a sensational 95 for the 2s (and took a wicket)! For those not paying attention: Azeem in the 2s is a cheat code. His performance + great decision making meant that I made the biggest move up the leaderboard this week (FYI Goose isn’t my gov name).
The TotW amassed a whopping 600pts this week including “wicketkeeper” Anuj, who bowled 3 overs and picked up 3 wickets (am I the only one who is confused? 😵💫).
3 players are also now over 50% owned - Bev, Owen and 🇦🇺 Matt. is still yet to take off as he made the TotW again as well as topping the best value and most popular players charts 📈.
Can anyone stop James ‘Billy’ May at the top? - on that bombshell, thanks for reading, goodnight,
Goose 🪿
( , England 55-5 going on 555ao, always a bat first day at Lords)

🏏 1XI & 3XI remain unbeaten!
Billy May anchors the chase with a classy 59* for the 1s to win by 7 wkts.
2s heartbreak at Sawbridgeworth — Azeem’s magnificent 95 wasn’t quite enough as they fell 17 short.
3s keep rolling and stay joint-top — Snehal’s 68 alongside knocks from Vish and Ethan set up 216/7 before Nayan & Nikhil tear through Boxmoor.
4s very nearly pulled off a smash-and-grab defending 145 vs OECC, while the 5s had a tough afternoon against a flying Watford side with 38* from Bobby.
Eyes on next weekend 👀💪 (p.s anyone who celebrated the Gunners losing will be facing consequences)

!!!! Week 3 Fantasy Update !!!!
Macca retains top spot for the second week in a row - becoming the first player past 1000 pts this season! (Shock - he didn’t take his own advice and triple captain Yash (0 pts))
Sadly for Ivy he’s still stuck at the bottom, although he did trust the process of transfers - bringing in and captaining Matt (who is the most owned player across the game - 54%).
Hanu was the manager in form this week, jumping 12 places to 11th! A mention for Rameez who used his triple captain this week on himself and bagged a huge -7 (game respects game, back yourself). This spelled danger for 36% of teams who have the 1s all-rounder in their side!
TotW is full of 2nd XI players - Bev for his 6fer (did you hear?), lancs had a 3fer and runs, Bobby runs and Macca runs (we needed a keeper). Paul starred in the 5s with a nicely made 80-odd and captained himself too for 242 sweet, sweet points!
Best bang-for-your-buck is Naeem, who’s making serious value at over 56pts/£ - with Bev also over 50pts/£ and also the no.1 most popular bowler in the game (36%)!
Good luck to all this weekend,
Stats Guru 🪿
(P.s.to those who brought in Keshav - sorry not sorry, do your homework, )

🏏 Huge weekend — 5 wins from 6!
1s win at Hemel (Aman hat-trick 🎩) to go TOP of Div 3A. 2s back it up with Tom Bev’s 6-19, while the 3s grind out a gritty defence of 131 and the 5s post 241 with Paul cracking 86 on his return.
Sunday XI off to a flying start in their season opener, easing past Old Albanians — and Paul becomes RCC’s all-time leading run scorer along the way 👑
Onto next weekend 💪

2 matches in - time to do a fantasy update. Macca has started strong (599pts), taking top spot after the opening rounds despite fierce competition from Nikhil (598pts). True to his team name, Ivy has stuck to the process - the one where he captains Parag each week (who has negative returns in 2/2 games so far) - 130pts and bottom currently. 20 place swings for Vish and Izzy this week - Vish will be pleased, Izzy probably not. Teams of the week have both scored over 475pts, including big involvements from Shiv, Bev, Nitish and Yash. For those looking for transfer inspiration, £4.6m Keshav boasts the best value for money at 29.3pts/£.
Roundup complete - see you next week. 🪿

The game will be streamed on our YouTube channel as well.

A successful opening week for Rickmansworth CC! Some standout performances from our overseas Matt in the 1s, a hattrick for Tom in the 2s and a 97* from Naeem in the 5s🔥 We go again on Saturday🏏
