✨ So many exciting new resources at Little Cubs Childcare! ✨

We have been busy adding lots of new resources and resource areas, and we honestly can’t wait for the children to explore them! 🥰

Our new resources have been carefully chosen to support the children’s learning and development across so many areas, including:

🖐️ Fine motor skills – building, threading, manipulating and strengthening those little hands and fingers.

🏃‍♀️ Gross motor skills – encouraging movement, coordination, balance and physical development.
🧠 Learning & understanding – encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, exploring and discovering how things work.

🌍 Understanding the World – giving children opportunities to explore, investigate and learn about the world around them.

👩‍🍳 Role play – our new kitchens and role-play resources will encourage imagination, communication, social skills and lots of wonderful pretend play.
We believe that children learn best when they are actively involved, exploring, experimenting and having fun. 💕

We can’t wait to see all the wonderful play, learning and development that comes from our new resources!

Today we had a very special visit from Emma’s Crazy Creatures, who brought along two lovely little hedgehogs, Hattie and Hilda! 🦔🦔

The children were so excited to meet them and had the wonderful opportunity to see and learn about real, live hedgehogs up close. We also enjoyed reading the lovely story A Cold, Dark Night, all about a little hedgehog searching for somewhere warm and safe to sleep. 📖🦔

We absolutely love experiences like this at Little Cubs because they provide fantastic hands-on learning opportunities. The children can explore, observe, ask questions and learn through real-life experiences rather than simply learning from books or pictures.

Today’s visit supported so many areas of their development, including communication and language, understanding the world, confidence, curiosity, listening skills and learning through first-hand experiences.

It was truly lovely to see the children’s reactions, their excitement and curiosity as they met Hattie and Helda. What a wonderful experience! ❤️🦔

We had such a lovely walk through the Fairy Dell at Stubbylee Park yesterday 🌿🧚‍♀️

The children absolutely loved exploring the fairy houses and were so excited keeping watch for any little fairies hiding about 🧚🧚‍♂️

It’s such a magical, peaceful spot — perfect for sparking imagination and enjoying a bit of nature ✨💚

On Wednesday our little caterpillars arrived 🐛

The children are already so excited, and we can’t wait to watch them grow and transform into beautiful butterflies 🦋 It’s such a lovely way for them to learn about change and nature right before our eyes.

On Friday we visited a local farm and the children had such a wonderful time 🐑🐐 They especially loved feeding the goats and sheep apples and bread!
During our visit, we noticed one of the sheep was unwell. It was really touching to see how the children responded—they showed such kindness and concern, demonstrating a lovely caring nature towards the animal.
A beautiful reminder of how important these experiences are in helping children develop empathy and understanding of the world around them 💚
