Not much in the way of a match report today I'm afraid. Our lads just didn't seem to get into the game at all. Aside from a few exceptions and a decent spell in the second half we just weren't good enough today. Maybe a little bit of complacency set in and we thought it would be a walk in the park but we've definitely been brought down to Earth with a bang. We are still serious contenders for the league title and at this point we can't afford to give anything but 110% effort. We go again, let's learn a lesson from today and move on.

This morning we had an early kick off at Firgrove against Walshaw Sports Club Juniors U16 Lions.

We were a little slow at getting going this morning on a very boggy pitch. The first 15 - 20 minutes were quite flat, with not much fight or passion shown. But to give our lads credit, they soon found their feet and played some good football. Harvey C got the first goal, a nice little header from Brogan's corner. Tenny was our second goalscorer, a nice simple tap -in after a cross across the box. Walshaw were then awarded a penalty after a foul in our box which they converted to make it 2-1. There's not much to report from the second half, Joseph Castleton was unlucky with a cracking shot from 25yds out that was just millimetres too high. Well done lads!

A bright and early 9:15am kick off this morning over at Cheetham Hill. The lads were all raring to go and it didn't take them long to be a goal in front (David). Some great quality passing was the big difference between the two sides and another goal followed (Ben). David scored another to put his tally at 2 for the match and to put us 3-0 in front. Even at 3 goals to the good, the lads still wanted more and following a corner whipped in by Brogan, Max's bullet header made it 4-0. To top things off our very own birthday boy Saul got his first goal of the season to make it 5! Some quality saves for Abdul to keep a clean sheet as well. Some top notch teamwork today Hearts! Well done lads!

We were really slow at getting going this morning and Walshaw had the upper hand from kick off. Walshaw scored the first goal after 15 minutes but that seemed to wake our lads up a bit and we soon equalised with a great goal from David. Walshaw scored a second and we equalised again with a cracking header from Seth. It was 2 - 2 at half time after a pretty evenly matched first half. Second half kicked off and we were the better side and played some really nice football. Even so, Walshaw scored again in the 51st minute. The lads kept on fighting for every ball and once again we were the better team. Walshaw were then awarded a (controversial) penalty which was then converted. 4-2 to Walshaw. We didn't give up and we did score another in the 85th minute but unfortunately it wasn't enough and the game finished 4-3 to Walshaw. The lads need to be commended today for their fighting spirit, they didn't give up. Unlucky Sacred Heart, we go again next week.

We were a bit slow at getting going this morning and Shawside scored their first goal within the first 5 minutes. That woke us up a little bit as we slipped into second gear. A penalty awarded to Harvey C was converted by Seth to get us on the score sheet. Maybe we got comfortable because we took our foot off the gas and Shawside scored a second. Half time ended 2-1 to Shawside and not too sure what was said during the half time team talk but the real Sacred Heart came out to play afterwards. We got stuck in and although I wouldn't say we ever got into top gear, we gave it a good go - 2 cracking goals from Ben and a long distance rocket from Zach put us in front at 4-2. The coaches mentioned how well Tenny played and Abdul kept us in a strong position with his top notch shot stopping 🥅 Harvey M had a great game at the back also. Awesome effort today once the lads got their heads into the game. 4 out of 4 so far, let's keep it up boys!!!

We got stuck in right from the start this morning! We were on the front foot and quickly scored 2 goals in succession. A solid performance from the lads and ANOTHER penalty save from Abdul. Fantastic result again and off we go ready for the next game 💪🏻
