Rochdale Ladies Rounders

So tonight we had the first of our divisional rallies!! The 3rd division was split into 2 groups:

All Rounders, Heywood Harlequins and Mayfield.

Rakewood Raiders, JFTC2, Rakewood Knockers and Mad Batters.

Some amazing fielding and batting from everyone and scores kept really close. Both groups went down to rounders scored as All Rounders and Mayfield ended a draw but All Rounders tipped it to the final match. The other side of the field JFTC2 and Rakewood Knockers had just 1 rounder between them!! Knockers make it to the final.

What a final it was. Knockers bat first and All Rounders fielding with 7 as well might I add!! Some really lovely hits from Rakewood Knockers scoring 4 in the final. All Rounders fielded superbly with only 7 and kept it tight. Swap it over and All Rounders are getting halves which are adding up....until Liv steps up and bags her first ever rounder!!! Just 14 years old and absolutely smashing it!! The cheers were unreal for her lots of support and nana is down £20 😂 unlucky Sue. Kandie as last batter bags herself a stunning rounder and in total get 3.5 only half a rounder in it for the final!! What a game and 2 wonderful teams!! Well done ladies and well done everyone for taking part.

Let's mix it up a bit and start with the 3rd division for last night's games!!

3rd division we gave Mad Batters Vs All Rounders. A big shout out to begin with to Mad Batters their captain was super happy and impressed as their fielding was on point last night and not all in usual positions. Bowling was on point and inner did really well. First half saw the score at 0-0!! WOW! This is a rare one especially with All Rounders at the helm so well done Mad Batters. Second half All Rounders have their eye on more now the big hits worked and tiring out Mad Batters first half was helpful!! A lovely score of 4.5 to All Rounders. Mad Batters had tired legs and the score didn't go their way but they kept going regardless they did bag themselces half a rounder though 💪🏼. MVPs for this game go to Hannah from Mad Batters and Kandie from All Rounders two superb players well deserved 🥰

Straight on to 1st division now as no 2nd division teams playing last night. First we have G spot Vs A Team. A Team bat first and are unlucky to not get a score. G Spot take the fielding to a next level!! Really well fielded and great triangle. Swap over and G Spot are on fire 🚒 they score 6 rounders but A Team don't just give up some mega arms out field and a superb triangle though. Second half and A Team really push to get a score and make it exciting. Some great bits but unfortunately not enough and don't manage a score again. Final score 6-0 to G Spot and MVP goes to Rachel Hurst on G Spot and Young Player Nicole Westall from A Team.

Across the way on the other pitch we have Enviroflame Vs Rochdalians. Two top notch teams and looks like it was an exciting game!! Rochdalians bat first and some mega hits made but also seen by mega fielding from Enviroflame. A nice 3 rounders scores for Rochdalians to keep things steady at the start. Swap over and it's like watching the same thing some cracking hits for Enviroflame but just as amazing fielding from Rochdalians these teams are match for match score for Enviroflame is 3.5. seconds innings and this is what it comes down to... Rochdalians bag themselves and additional 7 rounders!! What a score ladies well done 10 total. Not without fight out in field young player for Enviroflame Thea had some amazing throws in to bowler!! Swap over and can Enviroflame make it up like we know the can some more big hits and even Thea has some corkers!! 3 rounders scored in total for them this innings making it a Rochdalian win 10-6.5! MVP goes to the young player Thea!! Must have been super outstanding so absolutely well done girl 🫶🏼☺️

Last night started this week's games off with a bang x

1st division Milnrow Vs Debs Divas. What a game it must have been the final score was 12.5 to 2 to Debs Divas. Big arms in full swing but not through the lack of effort from Milnrow and their strong fielding but it just wasn't enough last night for them. Natalie Lloyd from Debs Divas bags MVP in this game ☺️

2nd division we have Crown and Shuttle vs Newtown Ladies. Crown field first and the triangle was on top form as Newtown's sloggers only manage 2 rounders this innings. Swap over and Crown bag themselves 5 rounders Carli started strong with a rounder on the first bat and it wasn't long till some of the team followed suit big shout outs to Jas and Yvette. Second innings and Newtown have their eye on the ball now and score a lovely 4 rounders. Some really big hits by Newtown as always keeping Crown on their toes. Last innings and Crown need 2 to win...can they do it? Ash sneaks a cheeky one over first and Kaela claims the winning rounder, final score 7-6. Jas gets MVP from running from out deep to 2nd base for an out!! 🦵🏼 And Daisy lee bags young player 😁

2nd division again we have Steelers Vs Takeuchi. Steelers field first and keep Takeuchi at bay as they only score 2 in their first innings. Takeuchi fielding and triangle is unstoppable only half a rounder scored for Steelers!! Second innings and Steelers keep fielding tight again as Takeuchi only score 2.5 more bringing their total up to 4.5. swap over for the decider and Steelers now have their eye on the ball and are able to get their big hits in and score 3 rounders before Takeuchi gets side out. Some amazing fielding and batting from both teams. Lucy from Steelers bags MVP 💪🏼

3rd division we have Heywood Vs Rakewood Raiders. Raiders to bat first but Heywood are taking no prisoners and don't let them get a score in at all. Great fielding and triangle work from Heywood. Heywood to bat and for a team that can both hit it and run!! Raiders do amazing at keeping the score as low as 2.5 in the first innings. Second innings and Raiders are hitting hard but Heywood are fielding harder!! Raiders get themselves a rounder but unfortunately it was the only one before side out. Final score 2.5-1 Heywood only needing to bat one innings for the win. Hannah from Raiders gets MVP 🥰

At Leeds Regionals Sat 6th June

A day behind still but all games have been played this week!! Weather hasn't stopped us 💪🏼. Last night we had 4 games take place.

1st division Debs Divas Vs Rochdalians. Divas keep fielding tight first innings only letting 1 rounder pass them from Rochdalians who always make sure their eye is on the ball 😉 Bev got a fantastic catch and great pick up from all. Swap over and Rochdalians decide to match them. Safe hands Hannah was on form as always and unfortunately no score from Divas. Second innings Rochdalians now have their eye on that ball and score an additional 5 rounders!! Harriet ers the ball in magnificently though!! Debs to bat one more time and a few close trustees but Rochdalians fielding was on point. Final score 6-0 to Rochdalians but both Harriet from DD's and Hannah from Rochdalians share MVP 🫶🏼

2nd division we had Takeuchi Tigers Vs Tornadoes. Home team bat first to mix it up. Takeuchi have their big arms in scoring 6 rounders, Lauren and Claire on top form even with a dicky knee!! Tornadoes fielding as best they can and down to last batter before swapping. Sarah the sneaky lefty bags a cracking rounder!! Gets a score on the card for them. Takeuchi fielding great with a strong triangle and then side out with 2 batters left. Second innings and Tornadoes are ready for them this time and only 1 rounder scored. Takeuchi keeping it strong fielding and Tornadoes manage another rounder 😁 really friendly game and double whammy for Takeuchi as Claire bags MVP and Skye Young Player ☺️

Phoenix Vs JFTC. Strong start from Phoenix as they field immensely and the bowler is too good to let them get a hit on it. Some hits made, great contact but not enough to get round. Great catch from Fiona loud and clear it was hers, beautifully done. Nothing scored from JFTC. Swap over and first ball Fiona hits high and Rachael gets a cracking one handed catch as backstop and shock on her face. Some amazing hits by Phoenix and another catch from Rachael on a backwards, guilt kicks in as she realized it was a young player 🫣 2 rounders scored in total from Phoenix. JFTC bat again, some more nice hits again not enough to get a score Kim comes close but fielding is impeccable from Phoenix. Final score was 2-0 to Phoenix and Rachael from JFTC gets MVP for safe hands 🙌🏼 and Lacie Keefe gets Young Player for staying in as long as she did and great hits 🥰

3rd division we have All Rounders Vs Heywood. Two mega teams here. All Rounders field first and some cracking bowling as always by sue and great triangle work even without their usual backstop. Some mega hits from Keeley over left. Great work from both sides and 3 rounders scored for Heywood to get the ball rolling. Swap over and Heywood keeps fielding mega tight nothing past them, until half is scored for All Rounders. Second innings and Heywood score another 3 giving their total to 6. All Rounders need big arms and fast legs to catch up. Holly on fire with bowling and All Rounders struggle to get a hit unfortunately no score this innings, for the final score 6-0.5 to Heywood Keeley from Heywood gets MVP 💪🏼 and Liv Young Player from All Rounders 🍾 well done everyone.

More great games were played tonight...wait till tomorrow to find out how they got on ⚾

Last night we had more games on the way.

1st division Rochdalians Vs A-Team. A-Team to bat first, some cracking hits made but Rochdalians were in top form and side out the A Team without allowing a score. Rochdalians bat and score an outstanding 9 rounders before A Team could call side out. Second innings and Chelsea has her eye on the ball this time ready for what's to come and scores a lovely 2 rounders and was unlucky to not get any more but Rochdalians kept fielding real tight. Final score 9-2 to Rochdalians but Chelsea bags MVP and Nicole Young Player both from A Team 🎉 well done ladies. Great game by both sides and refs think so too.

We also had Enviroflame Vs Lightning. Now what a game we have here. Lightning bat first and Enviroflame are taking no prisoners whilst fielding everything kept tight and only 1 rounder scored. A cracking hit as well but they couldn't quite get anymore in. Swap over and they retaliate with the same force. Fielding mega, triangle mega. Batting for Enviroflame is mega but again only 1 scored. Second innings and I swear these 2 teams know each other too well as it ends a toe 3-3 as they both scored only 2 rounders in their innings, fielding brilliantly and catches and batting was mega. Tara gets the MVP 🫶🏼

2nd division Commercial Vs Crown and Shuttle. A great game as always here as well between two great teams. Crown bat first and score 3 big rounders to start the side off and Commercial are on form fielding not letting any more get scored. Commercial bat and some great hits but awesome fielding with a powerhouse triangle from Crown not letting anything past them at all and in turn side out Commercial with no score. Carli got in some great catches 🤲🏼. Second innings Crown again big shout out to Sally by the way for first game back who in the first innings was a 'one swing wonder' but redeems herself with some serious powerful hits but Commercials fielding was just too good. Another 4 rounders scored having a total of 7. Lilo and Jo had some great catches to support Commercial making sure Crown didn't get anymore. Commercial need some big hits now from deep down to stay in the game. More big hits but some great catches again especially by Sharon out deep!! Alana steps up and bags a rounders has a breather in between batters and gets another!! Super speedy legs is back. Crowns triangle get side out again leaving score at 7-2 to Crown and Shuttle. Special shout outs to Crowns scorers, Ash, Jas, Carli and Karla (even if she did try knocking out the bowler) and Alana for great bowling and the 2 rounders got her the MVP of this game from Commercial.

3rd division we have Mad Batters Vs Mayfield. Mayfield bat first and Charleigh is on fire tonight with 2 rounders!! Mad Batters keep fielding tight with some mega arms out deep and a great triangle getting sideout. Mad Batters to bat now and fielding from Mayfield keeps them at bay!! No score for Mad Batters. Second innings and again...Charleigh with a rounder and Jo!! It's her show last night with them hits and rounders, the lefty's are on fire!! Mad Batters again with epic fielding and not letting anyone more past them keep Mayfield's final score low at 4. Last chance for Mad Batters and unfortunately 2 great catches from Leah and some more superb fielding stop Mad Batters from scoring. Sharon almost got them a score though with a cracking hit between 1-2 and she would have deserved it after catching out Charleigh. Great game ladies some brilliant shows here!!

Last night's games went ahead the weather held off for us!!

1st division we had Saddleworth Bulldogs Vs Milnrow and what a close game!!! Milnrow bat first and get the score rolling with 3 rounders. Saddleworth keep fielding tight not allowing any more past them. Saddleworth bat and score a close 4.5 giving no more away Milnrow retaliate with superb fielding and keep it a close first innings. Swap over and Milnrow get some massive hits in scoring 4 putting their total up to 7, Saddleworth's triangle gear up and managed the side out before Milnrow got any more. Saddleworth need to get their arms to stay strong to take a win and Milnrow need to keep fielding strong. Milnrow manage to get 5 batters out but unfortunately Saddleworth take a win by gaining 3 more rounders. Final score being 7.5-7 super close game well done ladies. MVP goes to Hannah on Saddleworth 😁

2nd division we see Newtown Ladies Vs JFTC. JFTC struggle to hit Sammy's superb bowling but Tricia manages to get her eye on one and bag a rounder. With only 7 fielders Newtown absolutely smashed fielding and kept score at 1 rounder. Newtown come in to bat and these big hitters are on form!! Scoring a whopping 6 rounders in the first innings. JFTC getting their deep arms working managing to stop a few more from happening. Katie got two great catches as backstop as well. Second innings JFTC bat again and this time Ellie managed to bag herself a rounder but Newtown take the win with one innings as score ended 6-2. Well done ladies another great and friendly game and Christine from Newtown was MVP 💪🏼

3rd division we have...can we call it a derby match? Rakewood Raiders Vs Rakewood Knockers. Raiders as home team choose to bat first and score a cracking rounder but Knockers kept fielding tight with an awesome triangle. Swap over and new team Raiders did some great triangle work and inner Hannah was everywhere. Knockers managed to score a whopping 5 rounders in total. Second innings and Raiders are ready for them this time and get some amazing hits in. Ellie backstop gets a great catch so does Ella as bowler for Knockers but then also gives half rounder obstruction away not long after 🤣 Debbie for Raiders gets a big hit in and a great rounders then stays in as a last batter but isn't able to get another in. Final score 5-2.5 to Knockers and a double MVP as refs couldn't choose so Debbie for great backstop work and rounder from Raiders and Ella Casey for great fielding from Knockers ⚾ well done everyone.

Sorry for no updates on last week's games. Quite a few rained off and rearranged a couple managed to start matches off and 2 games managed to see through to the end!!

This week being a bank holiday kick off was last night and we had some great games.

1st division we had A Team Vs Enviroflame and the Musgrave Trio were on top form along with Cia. Some great fielding and batting from both sides. We had Chelsea from A Team do a great catch to get fast legs Courtney out. A Team had some belting hits from Jen and Chelsea. Refs said it was a really friendly game as well. Score ended 6-2 to Enviroflame well done 👍🏼

2nd division saw JFTC Vs Commercial. First game for JFTC and a dryer one for Commercial. Home team chose to bat first scoring 0 due to Katy B's incredibly quick hands on 1st and a super amazing 1 handed catch to get fast runner Courtney out. Lil had a great catch from backstop and Alana was just unstoppable. Commercial gets a belter of a rounder from Alana and then JFTC catches up with Courtney getting her eye in and scoring 2 for them. Ended a draw and Ellie out deep caught the last batter Ash out and it was a belting hit and belting catch. Great friendly game amazing fielding from both sides!! MVP had to go to Katy B 🫶🏼

3rd division we had Heywood Harlequins Vs Mad Batters. Mad Batters start strong with 1.5 on the score sheet and then Heywood retaliates with 3. Amazing fielding by Mad Batters to keep it low score. Heywood has Kat stand in as a bowler who did an amazing job!! Second innings and Mad Batters have their eye on the prize now scoring another 1.5 making it a tie, have to keep fielding tight to keep Heywood at bay. Unfortunately Mad Batters despite the hard effort were unable to stop them. Heywood takes the win 5.5-3 and 2 new players Katie and Amelia have scored their first rounder tonight as well so well done ladies. Some amazing games here MVP went to one from each side we have Amelia from Heywood 🥰 and Meg from Mad Batters 💪🏼 well done to you both.

Bring on tonight's matches it is cooler than yesterday but the sun is still shining 🌞 make sure to bring water and sun cream.
