Our U13 Sharks were at home yesterday and Coach Matt couldn’t be happier with how the team played.

“Milnrow U13 Sharks 3 - 2 GTAS U12

Well done to the Sharks this morning who managed to edge a win in a good competitive match.

The team showed great resilience and determination today - battling back from being 1 down at half time and holding onto to a 3-2 lead in the final moments of the game.

Goals:
Charlie ⚽️
OG ⚽️
Adam ⚽️ - right place right time again after Charlie’s free kick and good follow up from Ethan!

POTM - we struggled today as it was a great team performance but we picked one each:
Oliver - had to work hard to get to grips with a fantastic winger playing for GTAS, kept him close and got better and better through the game.

Eli - brilliant in centre mid, constantly won the ball back for us and really helped get us up the pitch, he was everywhere today.

William - he’s had a super start to the season, competing well and not much is getting past him… His game is really coming on and another good game today.

That’s 2 wins on the spin and not a bad start to the season at all. Well done Sharks! ⚽️👌”

Well done to Oliver, Eli and William and well done Sharks 😊🔴⚫️⚽️🦈

There were goals galore in our U9 Eagles game yesterday in what was a close match. Coach Matt took lots of positives from the game.

“A hard-fought victory today for the U9 Eagles in a very competitive and high-scoring game against Radcliffe Pumas
⚽
The team showed good attacking intent and kept working right until the final whistle. Defensively, we need to be a little more compact, communicate better, and react quicker when possession is lost.

Plenty of positives to take, with some clear areas to work on.

Big shout out to Kai who for the 2nd week running gets player of the match. He worked very hard throughout the game.

Goals from Joe, Kai and Israel”

Well done Eagles and well done Kai 😊🔴⚫️⚽️🦅

Our U8 Sharks were at home yesterday and Coach Lee is really happy with the progress they’re making.

“Fantastic home win for the U8 Sharks this morning, full of effort again from the whole team, we are trying to work on positioning at the moment and Munashe stood out today with sticking to his position, and scored an absolute beauty of a goal with fantastic dribbling and finish, earning him player of the match. The team is really on the up and it’s a joy to watch them improve each week.”

Well done to Munashe and the Sharks 😊🔴⚫️⚽️🦈

Coach Damien was really happy with how our U10 Eagles played this morning and with how they are developing as a team.

“U10 Eagles won today in what can only be described as a dominant performance from start to finish, pressing high and winning the ball back, working hard for each other and just all round playing the game we are teaching them.

From the first minute we attacked and won a corner and a low driven ball caused problems for the opposition and it ended up in the back of the net and that set the tone for the game. We showed our class going a few goals up although we lacked a bit of composure towards the end of the half and conceded. We continued in the second half creating more and more chances scoring again, capped off by a lovely flowing move from back to front from Oscar to Logan and an instinctive pass through to Billy who buried it in the corner. This group is going from strength to strength and long may it continue!!!

A special mention to Theo, Corey and Quhey who all played their part by playing for the opposition today so we could get the game on.

Goals from Billy, Oscar, Praise and Ghufran and Corey scored for them with the last kick of the game.

MOTM was Oscar today absolute warrior in the centre of the park to even dropped in defence when needed and took his goals well.”

Well done Eagles and well done to Oscar. Sounds like a great game 😊🔴⚫️⚽️🦅

Coach Matt was pleased with how our U12 Sharks played this morning 😊

“Unsworth Raiders 1 - 2 Milnrow Sharks U12

A good win for u12 Sharks this morning getting our first win in 5 attempts against Unsworth Raiders.

A much better start to the game this week, every player was on it from the first whistle. We took a 2-0 lead courtesy of good goals from Charlie, then conceded a long range effort before half time. The game became quite scrappy and a little heated the longer it went on but sharks did well to defend their lead and keep playing their own game.

Whole team played well from start to finish but POTM today goes to our goalkeeper Finley. Super saves, good handling, proactive coming off his line and great kicks from the floor and his hands 👏

Well done Sharks keep it up! ⚽️💪🦈”

Well done to Finley and the Sharks 😊🦈🔴⚫️⚽️

Our U9 Eagles got their first win of the season this morning and Coach Matt was another happy coach.

“The first win of the season for our U9 Eagles against Elton and Walshaw Panthers. A dominant display from Joe saw him scoring the majority of our goals. Due to illness we had to put Israel in goal and he played a cracking game making some incredible saves to keep the opposition from scoring more. Overall very happy with each boy today all helped each other and contributed to our win.

Goals from Joe and Kai.

Our player of the match went to Kai who throughout the game didnt stop running and put fear into the opposition putting in lots of tackles.”

Well done Kai and Eagles 😊🦅🔴⚫️⚽️

Our U14 Jaguars were at home this morning and Coach Ben couldn’t be happier with how the team played.

“U14 Jaguars 6-4 Pennine Reds.

A top performance from the lads this morning. It took us a good 5-10 minutes to get going but once Mason had opened the scoring we started to dominate the game. Really nice to see Radley and Josh winning everything in the middle of the pitch, then the movement out wide from Lucus R and Harry W made sure we kept creating chance after chance. Mason x3, Lucas R and Radley scored to make it 5-1 at half time. Second half we tired a little and Pennine came back into game, pulling a couple of goals back. A nice finish from Mason with about 10 minutes to go made it 6-3 before Pennine scored again late on. On reflection the defence held out well keeping Pennine to long shots and half chances.

Well played everyone, but men of the match to Radley and Josh- combined really well in the middle, winning battles and getting us moving up the pitch👍🏼⚽️🐆”

Well done Radley and Josh and well done Jaguars 😊🐆🔴⚫️⚽️

Our U11 Sharks are our newest team and this is their first season together . Coach Vitto has been happy with how they are doing and was pleased they got their first win today😊

“Under 11 Sharks won convincingly against Sublime this morning - it was our first win of the season.

The team is coming together now they are starting to get comfortable with each other and understanding the game a bit more. Long may it continue ⚽️⚽️.

Man of the Match went to Noah”

Well done Sharks and well done Noah 😊🦈🔴⚫️⚽️

Our U14 Sharks continue their unbeaten run and Coach Dave is pleased with the effort from all the players.

“U14s Oldham Town 3 v 5 Milnrow Sharks.

Team POM today, bare 11 and everyone put shift in against a side that will pick up wins and cause a few upsets this season.

It was end to end but we took the lead through Theo and looked like scoring again but instead Oldham got themselves back level on the counter. We regained the lead before HT from a Preston shot that the keeper spilled into the net. We had two attempts cleared off the line too in that first half.

Second half we switched to a 4-5-1 as we were getting over run and started to look tired. Oldham scored the equaliser via a cross shot that went over Keane 2-2.

With 10mins to go we switched players around moving Frankie into CM, Reegan to CB and Ayaan to the RW and it instantly paid off as we went 2-3 via Theo. Theo then scored another 2 goals to make it 2-5 before Oldham grabbed a late goal. Final score 3-5.

I thought everyone put a shift in today and we had some tired faces coming off that pitch. 4 wins from 4 now and we are unbeaten in our last 12”

Well done Sharks 😊🦈🔴⚫️⚽️

Coach Damien was really pleased with how well our U10 Eagles played this morning.

“U10 Eagles won today against Whitworth Valley. We started the game strongly going 1 up within the first minute but we didn’t reset quickly enough and they then equalised which gave us a kick up the backside. We then controlled the game for the next 15/20 minutes scoring again but then we got comfortable and that allowed them back into the game.

We started the second half the way we started the first, controlling possession, playing the ball around and passing it through the lines and creating chances in abundance. Some great saves by their keeper kept them in the game for a time but then we started to take our chances.
Whitworth equalised again but then we scored another few goals to finish the game out.

Myself and Danny couldn’t be prouder of the performance and how far the team has come in a short space of time.

Goals today from Billy, Oscar, Ghufran and an OG.

MOTM was Praise who did everything we asked and more today although it was a tough decision to make!”

Well done Praise and well done Eagles 😊🦅🔴⚫️⚽️
