I've been a personal trainer for 10 years now and have a BSc Hons Human Nutrition
I spent 5 years working for the NHS National Diabetes Prevention programme , helping hundreds of patients reduce their Type 2 diabetes risk through educating and coaching
I previously competed in Natural Bodybuilding, where I challenged myself to lose 6 stone in 6 months and stepped on the Bodybuilding stage
I now compete in Powerlifting
Unlike many fitness professionals, I've been in your shoes
Like you, I've also been overweight, depressed, tired, and angry at the world
Like you, I have the unforgiving pressures of money, work, kids,
Like you, I've also done the fad diets and spent my hard earned money signing up to programmes and supplements that promise the world, but fail to deliver
I've lost my way, lost my fitness, and built myself back up numerous times,
My experiences taught me more about fitness, health, and empathy for others, more than my degree or PT qualification ever did,
I know hard it can be, I've been there,

We take our health and ability to move around for granted
Because its the natural, default status
Most of us are born healthy,
Most of us grow up pain free and feeling strong
So we take it for granted
Cos we never really worked for it
Ask a person whos in pain, what they want the most
Ask a person who is unable to move, what they want the most
They wont reply with money, fancy car, big house or a promotion at work
Theyll say:
I dont want to be in pain anymore
I just want to be able to move around again
We already have our health, our strength
We just have to uphold it, look after it, maintain it
Dont throw it away,
Dont waste it,
Stay strong

Think about how your body will react if you gave it nutritious food
Gave it much needed movement and exercise?
It would HAVE to react positively, because THAT'S the message you are sending your body
That's the stimulus your body needs
EVERYDAY
That's the key, frequent, daily, healthy messages for your body to react positively to,
Adopt DAILY healthy behaviours
Get 10000 steps in a day
Lift weights
Sleep on time
Eat nutritious and delicious food
Drink plenty of fluid
Enjoy time with loved ones
Take time off work regularly
To be truly healthy, both inside and out, we need to adopt some, if not all the behaviours above

My point is exercise, fitness, active lifestyle, you gotta embed it into your life, or be prepared to
If not, youre gonna have a tough time getting into shape, and staying in shape
Exercise isnt something you need motivation to do
Exercise isnt something you do when you feel like it
You do it because you HAVE to, for the sake of your health
Just like showering for the sake of your hygiene,
Exercising is a privilege, a luxury,
Obesity, is a 1st world problem, a disease of abundance
If i put you in a rural village in Bangladesh...you'd be trim in no time 😉

My first powerlifting competition after a 6 year break - i thought i was done with powerlifting
Life had done a number on me, and i genuinely lost confidence in myself
But i found a love for it again, the support from my wife and her sisters and was unbelievable and heartwarming
Not to mention the bloody atmosphere was electric! everything was ran smoothly, from the music to the commentating - incredible
Lifting with colleague and friend was soooo cool - she freakin killed it an all! and hope we inspired you to compete one day too 🙏
I hope we can open the doors to everyone in our communities to get involved some form of sports....ideally strength sports 🤣
Strengthening your body and testing it is the one of the easiest ways to empower yourself - youre really missing out!
Anyhoo...
Bodyweight - 85.1kg
Squat - 170kg
Bench - 120kg
Deadlift - 205kg
Totalling 495kg - was aiming for 500kg but got duped 🤣🤣
Literally such a good buzz, onto the next comp!

Even if you somehow managed to change the pH levels of your stomach or blood etc
You'd find yourself in a hospital bed
Stop thinking alkali is good and acid is bad - and please stop wasting money on "green" supplements and "green" smoothies in a bid to alkalise yourself and lose weight
You know deep down its all bo****ks
Instead, spend money on being truly healthy,
watch your portions, eat a balanced diet
Spend money on exercise and stay generally active,
Spend money on my personal training package 😂
