Captains been busy for two days. Booked at the sponsors The Puckersley Inn Royton for end of season presentation, food ordered and rounders and catches counted for both JFTC and JFTC2 💪🏻

What a season it is has been and lots to celebrate so many improvements and total rounders scored to be announced at presentation and total of catches and it's a close one between both teams. Trophies ordered for MVPs and Most Improved players. See you all on Friday 28th!!! ⚾

So Tuesday marked the end of the season for JFTC2. And in true style they played in pyjamas (again). Final game against knockers like last year and fun was had.

To say these ladies are an inspiration is an understatement. They aren't the new team anymore but they are still the under dogs. Just when you think it's over they bring it back every game!!

This year the youth have shown they have a place on the team permanently (they did anyway) but every bit, catch, run, rounder has absolutely counted.

The adults have shown they are ruthless (again always have been) but yet so sporting to others and each other. JFTC2 have been a delight to manage again this year. I can't wait to see what next season brings for them 💪🏻

So this is the end of the season for JFTC! And what a season it has been.

Should've been relegated to 3rd division but due to circumstances stayed in 2nd and managed to bag themselves a win Monday night securing second place of 2nd division with the potential to go up to 1st division next year....only time will tell ....

These ladies have come on so much. From losing everything the first season to winning all but 2 to then winning everything and moving up. To now being a steady 2nd division contending team!! Proud isn't a good enough word for what I feel towards these women. They have all grown in confidence and skill and are fantastic to play alongside.

Bring on next year ladies and whatever it may bring ⚾

Monday night we had JFTC Vs Newtown Ladies. And what a game it was. Newtown only had 7 players but that didn't stop them bringing their A game!!

JFTC fielded first and we had Sami bowling, Ash 1st base and Ellie backstop. Out deep we had Betty, Dani, Kim, Tricia and Amanda with Sam as an inner. Newtown had some mega bits as always by Laura and Christine even. Ash manages to get half without hitting it!! 4.5 scored to Newtown in the first round of batting and fielding was mega Kim was kept busy with Laura smashing the ball towards her and Amanda and Tricia from Christine. Sophie and Ash had Betty and Dani working hard as well. Great throws in by everyone on the field and we stopped a lot of rounders from being scored. Swap over and we have a lot of firsts tonight and I couldn't be prouder!! It was beautiful to watch. Tricia bags herself some rounders and Amanda. Sam keeps her feet still and gets half a rounder from no balls!! Then along comes Betty and Dani scoring their 1st ever rounder for JFTC!! Such a great moment and determination on their faces!! Score of 5.5 allowing us to take the lead.

One change for the second innings. Dani came off and Rachael came on. Ellie goes out deep and Kim moves round to where Dani was as Rachael goes backstop. Newtown had the energy and the arms to say there were only 7 of them. Again mega hits but Ellie bags herself and amazing catch preventing Laura from scoring as many as she did first innings. Only 2 out on 1st base from triangle. Newtown had a long innings it was difficult to get them out and they had us running ragged as they score an additional 7 rounders making the total 11.5. Time.for us to bat...we are hot, sweaty, and internally panicking 😂. Can we do it? Newtown on form with triangle work Sammy, Christine and Laura taking no prisoners at all and we start to drop like flies. Rachael starts a trend...she sees the gap and aims for it, belting hit over towards the line that went bloody far as well. A rounder scored and then Tricia follows suit. Amanda came close again to one or 2 but was stopped by Newtown's superb fielding. Rachael bags another cheeky left and the impossible happened...she outran Christine to 3rd base and then actually carried on to 4th base for a 2nd rounder 🤨 I know right....? Two batters left Rachael and Tricia, and tiredness kicks in. Sammy upped her game and it became difficult to hit her balls. The score is tied 11.5-11.5 and unfortunately we didn't have it in us and Christine gets the ball and does side out. Final score is a draw 11.5 each and what a game it was.

Nothing but laughter and banter throughout. A massive shout out to Laura from Newtown as she even came off 1st base to go 1st deep because of Amanda, Rachael and Tricia and her arm....WOW her fielding was spot on!! MVP from refs go to Laura quite deservingly and then a last minute add on with Rachael for the 1st rounder as apparently it was mega 💪🏻

The Captain's MVP had to go to Tricia. Her arm was mega out deep and the last few games have been scoring so much it's unreal. Tricia you have shown so much improvement each year and match!! Truly well deserved 🥰
