JFTC Rounders

Last night JFTC Vs Steelers. It's always a pleasure against these ladies as well.

For once VC Sami decided field first as we were home team with the choice. Amazing bowling by G and then Katie and Sami as backstop and 1st base. Fielding kept tight as we had 8 to begin with waiting for our 9th to rock up. Fielding was mega even more so when we had 9 on field Katie with 2 good catches and G bagged one keeping score to 0. Steelers fielding and omg Emma's bowling was on fire 🔥 as always I love watching the magic happen!! However after a few rounds Tricia managed to get her eye in bagged 3 beautiful rounders 💪🏼 some mega hits made by Ellie and Kim as well and last batter was Abbi (forgot to mention she turned up on time 😂). Batting has improved so much and I don't think she missed a single ball to be fair.

Second innings and we swap Abbi for Ash. Fielding again was beautiful Steelers were getting their workout in!! Some mega hits by them Emma came close with a beautiful hit but was unlucky at 3rd base. Leander with her mega shot but unfortunately Ash was in the right place and got a beautiful catch. Then their last batter Bex rocks up cheeky lefty who nearly cracks it onto the next field beautiful rounder scored and then best of 3 everyone has moved round over there to be ready but even that didn't stop her!! Another mega rounder. Thankfully on the next 3 good balls it was side out. It's a win for JFTC 3-2 ⚾

Everyone was outstanding from both teams some mega throws in!! Great batting and all round great game lots of laughs...pretty sure the captain was cheering on Steelers more than us 😂. Captains MVP went to Tricia for her mega rounders!!

At Leeds Regionals Sat 6th June

Tonight we see JFTC2 Vs Heywood Harlequins. Absolute pleasure playing these ladies.

The weather wasn't looking great but ploughed on and fantastic as always. We field first for once (change it up a bit) Nic bowling superb, Liv epic on first base and Keiley's pick up brilliant as backstop. Some great hits by Heywood and brilliant catches from Nic. Keeley knocking it out of the field almost bags 4 rounders in the first innings. Swap over and some good hits made but triangle too strong and no rounders scored but cheeky fast legs Charlotte keeps on running, bit of miss fielding from Heywood allows her to speed up and bag half a rounder!! Samantha bags half, on no balls as well getting herself on the scoreboard for the team!!

Second innings and Heywood on form Holly bags herself a rounder beautiful hit as well!! Nic with another catch and Keiley cheeky backwards hit catch!! Keeley bagging herself another 2 rounders. Jane and Alisha with some mega throwing in from 1st and 2nd deep!! Absolutely stunning it was. We bat again and tiredness is kicking in. It's been a long innings but some great hits made, triangle from Heywood on top form again getting a few of us out. And Nic steps up, massive hit gets to three and is hungry for a rounder and then boom big hit over 1 and rounder scored, unfortunately Heywood get side out and what a game!! Heywood win 7-2 but was super fun and friendly.

Nic grabs MVP off the refs and Charlotte Young Player!! The captain's player is Jane for her mega arms throwing in from the big hitters!! Well done everyone 🫶🏼⚾

Tonight's match we had JFTC vs Phoenix. We love having a game with these lovely ladies and what a game it was.

We bat first and some cracking hits made by us but not enough to get round Abbi on fire with batting tonight mega hits!! Samantha in true style slips at 1st base and apparently was a fabulous fall!! Phoenix were on fire with fielding and the triangle were brilliant at getting us out. We didn't manage to get a score at all. Switch over and Georgina was showing mega bowling tonight absolutely top notch!! Mean and fast 🫣 or cool and slow 😎 Rachael as backstop tonight with a brilliant one handed catch on the first batter Fiona, was a relief as she hits far and wide and runs as fast. Some great hits made from Phoenix and 2 rounders scored. Another catch off Rachael as backstop and side out from a distance.

Second innings we need to up our anti haha and get stronger arms haha. Ellie and Toni enter the batting line as we lose Abbi and Tricia. Ellie has her eye in with a good hit but fielding kept tight from Phoenix and they just have us now Gill some great catches as backstop and Rachael tried what she calls a Leander special whilst Leander was reffing and it gave more oomph...but not enough. Kimberley gets a corker and runs to 3rd but unfortunately not enough so close to a rounder we thought she had it but unfortunately they got side out.

Phoenix take the win with 1 innings. Such a great game with these ladies as always. MVP to Captain Rachael as backstop for her great catches as backstop and Young Player to Lacie from Phoenix for staying in as long as she did and some great hits 💪🏼⚾

Last night JFTC took on Newtown Ladies and at least the rain held off.

We batted first and barely any contact made Abbi was getting the hits in just not enough for a rounder tonight and then Tricia comes and gets her arm and legs in and smashes a rounder. Fielding we have Sami, Ellie and Katie as triangle tonight and Katie got 2 great catches as backstop and out deep Tricia and G had some mega arms getting the ball in but unfortunately Newtown's big hits and quick legs were quicker. Scoring a lovely 5.5 rounders.

Second innings Sami comes off for Kim and we bat to try catch up but unfortunately we were unable to get eye on the ball again although Ellie managed to get a rounder for us bringing total score to 5.5-2. well done Newtown and well done ladies for a great friendly game. We try again tomorrow against Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 💪🏼⚾

So JFTC haven't been in luck for 2 weeks rained off games last night they got their first game against lovely Commercial in the blistering heat.

We chose to bat first and unfortunately due to a mega triangle and right fielding we got naff all 😂 not through lack of effort Rachael and G got close but fielding was good and out on 4. Katy B on first base for Commercial got a corker of a catch one handed. Go into the field and we also kept fielding tight only letting 1 rounder on the score sheet. A great catch by inner Ash for us and great triangle work. Rachael the captain had a lot of fumbles....we will blame the heat as she's pale and ginger.

Second innings we need to step up now to stay in the game and we had some great connections with the ball but Courtney managed to get the rounders and scored 2 for us. Switch again and fast legs Alana scores another 1 but then Katie got a brilliant catch as backstop and was chuffed as it was on Alana herself. It's a tie 2 a piece and the last batter in is Ash. Cracking hit over to 2nd deep and Ellie was ready and waiting and caught the ball.

A great game from both sides superb fielding as well from both and batting. Lots of laughs as always. Katy B got the MVP from Commercial and Captains MVP went to Courtney as she was literally everywhere on that field 💪🏼🤣⚾

No luck for the 1st team that's there first 2 matches cancelled due to weather and to be rearranged. Hopefully better weather next week 🙏🏻

Tonight we have JFTC playing their first game (weather dependent) last week's game was rained off....hopefully we can get a match on tonight 🥰
