This weekend was our annual shoot with the brilliant Blackpool Bowmen Archery Club Blackpool Bowmen Archery Club. Our two clubs share over seven decades of history, friendship, and friendly rivalry, and this year RCA were absolutely delighted to welcome Blackpool to our brand-new home at Ashworth for the very first time.
What a glorious day it turned out to be! Sunshine, good company, and some cracking shooting all round. RCA proudly won the Recurve and Compound trophies, while Blackpool smashed it and claimed the Longbow trophy.
Huge congratulations to every archer who stepped up to the line, and an even bigger thank you to those members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the day run smoothly. You’re the heartbeat of the club, and we couldn’t do it without you.
To round off the day, our RCA President Karen Naylor presented a beautiful hand‑stitched framed piece, crafted with countless hours of care and dedication accepted on behalf of Blackpool by BB President Paul. A heartfelt gesture, and a truly special moment that captured the friendship and history between our two clubs
A fantastic day of archery, camaraderie, and celebration here’s to many more!!

A glorious 🌞🌞 day at our Ashworth Outdoor Field for the Long/Short Metric shoot, competing for the RCA Adshead/ Morris Club Trophies.
We had 17 RCA members on the shooting line, joined by our RCA Honorary Members Roger and Jean Stretton (Jean is also currently serving as the LAA President ❤). A fantastic day all round.
A huge thank you to our Social Secretary and RCA President Karen Naylor for providing a post shoot curry!
