The Ladies National Championships take part on Saturday 28th March at Leeds.

Amy-Leigh Shepley and Sophie Redmond from Rochdale will be playing for the Lancashire Ladies. Emily Smith will be playing for the Yorkshire Lasses.

Adam Thetford started playing underwater hockey at the Rochdale club aged 14

Now he is off to his second World Championships and will be playing with the U24 Men.

Sophie Redmond started playing underwater hockey at the Rochdale club aged 8.

Now she is off to her second World Championships and will be playing with the U24 Women.

Today for **International Women’s Day** we celebrated the incredible women in our sport at the Team GB Underwater Hockey training camp. 💪🌊

This weekend around **60 women** from across the country came together — representing different squads, age groups, and stages of their underwater hockey journeys — all united by a shared passion for the game.

From experienced internationals to rising talent, it was inspiring to see so many women in one place pushing each other, supporting each other, and showing the strength of our community.

Here’s to the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and supporters who continue to grow women’s underwater hockey in the UK. The future of the sport is strong. 💙
