TALE OF TWO HALVES: Lions Stage Comeback Against Chatham Town!

FT: Chatham Town 3-3 Real 60 Lions

A brilliant friendly between two quality sides that had everything - a dominant first half from Chatham, a stunning second-half comeback from Real 60, and a deserved draw in the end!

Chatham made an electric start. After 20 minutes, a stunning first-time strike flew into the top left corner - the keeper had absolutely no chance. 1-0!

Ten minutes later, a dangerously whipped corner cleared everyone in the box, including the keeper, to double their advantage. 2-0!

Three minutes after that, a speculative shot somehow found its way into the bottom corner. 3-0 and Chatham were rampant.

At halftime, Chatham were the better side and deserved their lead. Real 60 needed a big response.

They delivered! The second half was a completely different game. Within ten minutes, some great team play worked the ball to Damarae, who spotted Henry’s intelligent run in behind and found him with a perfectly weighted pass. Henry finished brilliantly to give the Lions a foothold. 3-1!

Ten minutes later, some lovely build-up play saw George brought down in the box. CJ stepped up coolly, slotting the penalty off the post and into the bottom corner. 3-2 and suddenly the game was alive!

With fifteen minutes remaining, the equalizer arrived in style! Max F swung in a quality corner delivery and Luca rose to power a header into the back of the net. Comeback complete!

A fantastic contest between two sides who will both be looking to have strong seasons in their respective leagues. Great preparation for the season ahead!

A great afternoon at the Bredhurst Tournament! Both Real 60 teams performed well in the group stages, picking up statement wins against strong opposition.

Unfortunately, the two teams were drawn against each other in the quarter-finals, meaning one had to make an early exit. Real 60 United went on to lose narrowly in the semi-final, falling 1-0 to Sheppey from the KYL.

A solid day overall for the club. Looking forward to next week’s tournament action!

But honestly, every single one of you should be proud — it’s been a season to remember for the whole squad ⚫️⚪️

That’s a wrap ⚽️

Runners up in both the League and the League Cup, and our highest position in the top division to date. If only a referee had done his job properly last season, the table would have looked very different - us joint top and heading into a play off for the title.

But life isn’t always fair and decisions won’t always go our way. Our lads showed exactly that from game week 2, digging deep to rise above the noise and prove their character.

It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. We’ve had highs and lows - at times scoring goals for fun, other times struggling to find the back of the net. We’ve defended brilliantly on our day, and on others couldn’t clear the ball to save our lives. But that’s football, and why we love it. Overall the football we’ve played has been exciting and a real joy to watch.

Mega proud of this group. Brilliant both on and off the pitch, and the bond between them is the best I’ve seen since the team started.

Huge shout out to Steve and Pad for everything you do week in, week out, and to George for the odd cameo. Thanks to the parents who step up to run the line - not an easy job with some of the gobby players and parents we come up against. And a massive thanks to all our parents for their commitment and for getting the boys to training and matches every week.

The rebuild begins.

U16s 26/27

🇳🇱 Day 2 at the Finals of the Juliana Malden Skor 2026 ⚽️ couldn’t match the highs of Day 1 during the qualification stage, with 2 losses and a draw. But in the extreme heat, with effectively no subs to lean on and lads playing through injuries, the boys did us proud - especially against some top opposition.

What an amazing weekend and experience for the boys. Great times, good laughs and memories made. Well deserved after a brilliant season, finishing runners-up in both the league and league cup.

A massive shoutout to all the parents who made this trip possible, many bringing the whole family along, and helped contribute to such a great weekend. A real testament to the lads too, who behaved impeccably throughout - can’t wait to see what’s next for this group!

🦁 DAY 1 - JULIANA MALDEN SKOR CUP, The Netherlands 🇳🇱

Blistering heat in the Netherlands but the boys got the job done when it mattered.

Match 1 vs Trinity: 3-0 Win
Strong start to the tournament. Logan with two quality goals and Noah with an absolute screamer from just inside the opposition half. Solid opening performance.

Match 2 vs Gerrard’s Cross & Fulmer: 1-5 Loss
The London side had demolished their first opponents and were too strong. Bobby got a consolation but we weren’t at our best and were well beaten.

Match 3 vs HVCH: 4-2 Win
Everything on the line - win and progress to the finals. The Lions delivered exactly when needed. Logan on fire again with two more, Bobby added another two. Through to tomorrow’s finals 💪🏻
