That’s a wrap ⚽️

Runners up in both the League and the League Cup, and our highest position in the top division to date. If only a referee had done his job properly last season, the table would have looked very different - us joint top and heading into a play off for the title.

But life isn’t always fair and decisions won’t always go our way. Our lads showed exactly that from game week 2, digging deep to rise above the noise and prove their character.

It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. We’ve had highs and lows - at times scoring goals for fun, other times struggling to find the back of the net. We’ve defended brilliantly on our day, and on others couldn’t clear the ball to save our lives. But that’s football, and why we love it. Overall the football we’ve played has been exciting and a real joy to watch.

Mega proud of this group. Brilliant both on and off the pitch, and the bond between them is the best I’ve seen since the team started.

Huge shout out to Steve and Pad for everything you do week in, week out, and to George for the odd cameo. Thanks to the parents who step up to run the line - not an easy job with some of the gobby players and parents we come up against. And a massive thanks to all our parents for their commitment and for getting the boys to training and matches every week.

The rebuild begins.

Can’t wait for 26/27 🦁

🇳🇱 Day 2 at the Finals of the Juliana Malden Skor 2026 ⚽️ couldn’t match the highs of Day 1 during the qualification stage, with 2 losses and a draw. But in the extreme heat, with effectively no subs to lean on and lads playing through injuries, the boys did us proud - especially against some top opposition.

What an amazing weekend and experience for the boys. Great times, good laughs and memories made. Well deserved after a brilliant season, finishing runners-up in both the league and league cup.

A massive shoutout to all the parents who made this trip possible, many bringing the whole family along, and helped contribute to such a great weekend. A real testament to the lads too, who behaved impeccably throughout - can’t wait to see what’s next for this group!

Roll on 2026/27 🦁

🦁 DAY 1 - JULIANA MALDEN SKOR CUP, The Netherlands 🇳🇱

Blistering heat in the Netherlands but the boys got the job done when it mattered.

Match 1 vs Trinity: 3-0 Win
Strong start to the tournament. Logan with two quality goals and Noah with an absolute screamer from just inside the opposition half. Solid opening performance.

Match 2 vs Gerrard’s Cross & Fulmer: 1-5 Loss
The London side had demolished their first opponents and were too strong. Bobby got a consolation but we weren’t at our best and were well beaten.

Match 3 vs HVCH: 4-2 Win
Everything on the line - win and progress to the finals. The Lions delivered exactly when needed. Logan on fire again with two more, Bobby added another two. Through to tomorrow’s finals 💪🏻

💔 CONTROVERSY AND HEARTBREAK: Lions’ Cup Dream Shattered

FT (AET): Real 60 Lions 1-3 Cobham

Back-to-back finals. Back-to-back heartbreak. At Rochester United, Real 60 gave everything against in-form Cobham, but controversial decisions and extra-time cruelty ended their dream of lifting the trophy.

The Lions exploded out of the blocks with an electric start. Within three minutes, Bobby’s dangerous cross found Luca, whose powerful shot was brilliantly saved by the keeper. Moments later, George swung in a trademark corner that was met by Luca again - his header crashed agonizingly against the crossbar! So close to the perfect opening.

Five minutes in came the moment that knocked the wind out of Real 60’s sails. Henry’s clearance found Bobby, who flicked it on to Logan just inside the Cobham half. Logan’s sublime diagonal ball floated perfectly over the defence, finding Damarae’s perfectly timed run. The keeper made a mess of it, parrying straight back to Damarae who slotted home. The referee pointed to the centre circle. Goal! But the linesman raised his flag and called him over. After consultation, the goal was chalked off for a supposed foul on the keeper. It wasn’t a foul. A terrible decision that deflated the Lions’ electric start.

Real 60 refused to let it derail them completely. Bobby had a goal-bound effort desperately cleared off the line before the breakthrough finally arrived on 25 minutes. A perfect lofted through ball from Alfie released Bobby down the right side of the box. He drove forward with composure and slotted coolly past the keeper into the bottom corner. 1-0 at halftime and thoroughly deserved.

One minute into the second half, Leo almost doubled the advantage but fired narrowly wide of the target. Then came the nightmare moment. A hopeful Cobham long ball launched into the box caused confusion between defence and goalkeeper. Somehow, the ball looped over Zaac’s head and into the net. 1-1, and suddenly Real 60 were rattled.

The game swung back and forth before another controversial moment on 65 minutes. The referee awarded Cobham a penalty after Harry was judged to have blocked an attacker running into the box. An incredibly soft decision. Cobham blazed it wide.

The final stages descended into chaos. A sin bin reduced Real 60 to ten men with eight minutes remaining. Then, in the dying moments of normal time, Henry brought down a Cobham player racing through on goal and was shown a straight red card for being the last man. Down to nine men heading into extra time.

Early in extra time, another sin bin reduced Real 60 back down to nine men for the opening period. The Lions battled heroically - every player giving absolutely everything despite being outnumbered. But fatigue inevitably took its toll. Cobham finally capitalized on their numerical advantage, scoring twice in the dying moments to break Real 60 hearts and crush their cup dream.

🎯 Goals from: Bobby
🌟 MOTM: Captain Alfie - Worked tirelessly, led by example, came off the field battered and bruised. Everything you want from your captain in a final!

Proud of every single Lion. 🦁💔
