Brakes @ The Boxing!
12 days ago, 5 Brakes colleagues took on an almighty challenge by training hard for (at least) 8 weeks at the TKO gym in Ashford and facing 3 long rounds against a similarly matched opponent.
It was a hugely successful event and these five also raised £2,000 combined for their chosen charities including . In addition, there was a huge Brakes contingent in the crowd as over 50 colleagues joined in the special event by cheering on their friends in the ring to create a truly spectacular scene.
Special special thanks to the incredible five one final time -
Jack Faulkner
Craig Calvert

IMUSC FC 4-0 Brakes FC
Brakes suffered their biggest defeat since Len Valley destroyed them back in 2023 and biggest in the Kent Recreational (Community) Cup as a very well oiled and organised IMUSC FC (Independent Maidstone United Supporters Club) put them to the sword in the end winning 4-0 at a very cold Gallagher Stadium on Friday evening.
Chances were few and far between in the first quarter of the match before Maidstone took the lead.
A multitude of chances then came Jon Turley's way but the IMUSC goalkeeper stayed up strong and thwarted on each occasion.
Brakes continued to try and put something together in the second half but it wasn't to be as Sam Wilson headed against the post and Maidstone then scored a further 3 goals to put the game out of reach for Brakes.
Next up is Medway Sport on Sunday 26th January.

After Tamworth were earlier this evening drawn against Premier League outfit Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup, it seems fitting to have a little throwback to January 2017 when Brakes FC also played at 'The Lamb' to take on Brakes Tamworth.
See how many familiar faces you recognise from almost 8 years ago.

DFDS 6-6 Brakes FC
Brakes FC win 5-4 on penalties
Brakes FC legend Joel Savage became the hero of the night as he popped up late on to spare Brakes blushes by equalising late in the game against a determined DFDS outfit at a cold Charles Sports Ground in Deal on Friday evening.
It started poorly early on for Brakes when a through ball broke the Brakes offside trap and the striker went round the despairing Robinson to give the men from DFDS an early lead.
Brakes then settled and started dominating possession, playing some nice football along the way before the midfield buffalo Harrison O'Brien smashed the ball home from just inside the box to give Brakes a deserved equaliser.
A fine headed effort into the corner of the net soon followed from club captain Craig Calvert and a sublime low drilled shot from Sam Marshall after an excellent move down the left gave the men from Enterprise House a 3-1 comfortable lead heading into the break.
However changes were made at half time and Brakes once again started sluggish as DFDS pulled a goal back within a minute of the restart.
It was that man Marshall again who gave Brakes a 2 goal cushion when put through calmly finished past the despairing keeper to make it 4-2 on the night.
The wheels well and truly came off as DFDS scored 3 unanswered goals to take a 5-4 lead, although there was still plenty of time remaining for Brakes to salvage something from the game.
And it was the skipper who once again popped up with a fine finish with the inside of his boot to level the game at 5-5 with less than 10 minutes on the clock.
After more uncertainty at the back, DFDS struck late on to surely give them the win amongst jubilant celebrations from the home fans but there was one more twist.
With the referee looking at this watch and surely only seconds remaining, second half substitute James Sing played the ball out wide to the right to Harrison O'Brien who whipped a fine ball into the area for Joel Savage to guide the ball into the roof of the net to send the traveling Brakes supporters into absolute raptures.
The game went to penalties and Brakes ended up winning 5-4 after goals from Savage, Marshall, York, Robinson and Mason.
