FRIDAY = TEAM NEWS! 🤩

After a washout pretty much everywhere last weekend, it’s time to get some cricket going this weekend!

The 1st XI host Hawkinge CC at The SCG with a W in their sights! 👀

The 2nd XI travel to lovely Swanscombe & Greenhithe CC to continue project 270 by adding another win to it! 🚀

The 3rd XI welcome Egerton CC to The Alps in hopes of getting back to winning ways! 💪🏻

The Sunday XI host Hit Wicket CC in a 40 over friendly! 🤝🏻

A QUIET ONE IN TOWN!😴

This weekend at Sherwood only sees 2 teams out for us as everyone seems to have booked a holiday… our invite must still be in the post 🤷🏻‍♂️

The 1s travel all the way down to Westgate-On-Sea CC where lies a little history from previous seasons and they hope to come away with better memories on Saturday 🤞🏻

The 2s are at home where they will welcome Gravesend CC to The SCG and are hoping to keep all the points and get back to winning ways 💪🏻

NOT THE ONE FOR US 😔

A tough one for our league sides on Saturday as all 3 saw defeat all within a couple miles of each other.

All 3 sides falling short in their run chases with the 1s losing at home to Faversham, the 2s losing to Old Wills at the maths school and the 3s losing to Lordswood in their first game at The Alps 😢

HOWEVER we did see a win this weekend with our Sunday side winning at home against Cudham Wyse! A stellar bowling display saw us limit them to 152AO as they chased our total of 193! 🤩

With all 3 Saturday league teams playing within a mile of each other it’s sure to be a loud and lively Rochester this weekend so get along to a game (or 3!) cheer them on and LETS AV IT!

SATURDAYS SCORES! 👀

After a scorching hot bank holiday this is how our 3 Saturday league sides did in their respective games!

The 1s got their season back on track with the win away against Hythe. Batting first Hythe set a target of 235 but with a controlled and calm knock from Beechy (87) and everyone else chipping in when they could it mean the target was chased down and the win taken home! 🤩

The 2s continued their great start to the season with their 3rd successive win when they hosted Newington at the SCG. With a disciplined bowling attack limiting Newington to 162 and then blistering knocks from Billy (51*) and Rich (44*) meant they chased down the target comfortably😮‍💨

The 3s were back in league action this weekend when they travelled away to Cowdrey where unfortunately it was the opposite for them. Being bowled out for 135 gave them a tough score to defend with Cowdret chasing it down with the loss of only 2 wickets☹️

PRESIDENTS DAY 2026!

Sunday saw our annual Presidents Day here at Sherwood and boy was it a scorcher! 🥵

The Chairman’s XI lead by Andrew Fewtrell took on the Club Captains XI lead by James Gingles in a 40 over game which saw Andrew and the Chiarman’s XI take all the marbles! 🤩

An amazing Tea laid out from none other than Katie Fewtrell with help from Sherwood’s No.1 fans Liv and Loz went down a treat with the players as they ploughed into it at the innings break! 🍔🥘

Our very own Gordon Millar and Dave hill went head to head in the SCC Bake off where Gordon came out victorious and Dave with nothing but cake to console himself with 🎂

With drinks flowing, laughs bellowing and fun being had I think we could all agree that Presidents Day 2026 was a great and fun day and we cannot wait for next years rendition. UP THE WOOD! 🏹💚

SUNS OUT CRICKETS ON!! 🥵

It’s Saturday, it’s bank holiday so that means CRICKET is here!!

The 1s travel down to Hythe to try and kick start their season and get a win under their belts! 🤞🏻

The 2s host Newington at home and look to continue the winning streak! 💪🏻

The 3s play Cowdrey in their return to the league after a bye week last week 🤝🏻

ABOUT LAST WEEKEND! 💥

The 1s travelled down the road to Rainham where they batted first. With Freddie putting on 69 and others chipping in they made it to 205 all out but couldn’t quite defend it with Rainham winning by 4 wickets.

The 2s played Yalding in their first home game of the season where they kept the visitors to 145 all out and comfortably chased it down to win by 6 wickets!

The 3s travelled to Town Malling in a friendly as they had no league game and struggled to get going with the bat. They put a fight up with the ball but ultimately lost by 5 wickets

Last weekend saw two players notch up 2 more milestones for Sherwood and they’re by no means small ones!! 🤯

Congratulations to Dave Hobbes who reached 350 appearances for Sherwood! A consistent player who puts it all out there every time! 💪🏻

Congratulations to James Kerr who scored his 4000th senior run for Sherwood! A serious All rounder that can effect any game whenever he wants! 😮‍💨

The 1st XI travel away to Rainham CC where they look to bounce back from last weeks defeat and walk away with all the points!
