Cliffe Crusaders Ladies -Touch Rugby

The results are in. Cliffe Ladies faced up against Cliffe Men for the last time in the final game of the Mini Touch League. The heat has been gruelling but the experience has been fantastic. We’ve had new ladies join the team throughout the league which has expanded our squad in readiness for next year and the experience gained from playing the boys has been second to none. Thank you for everyone that turned up to and supported our games. I’ve shared below the results of yesterday’s game as well as the result of the overall league. We didn’t win the league….but we won in so many other ways. Biggest thanks to the boys that took part, to Jamie for coaching our squad and to Cherie for being a great Captain. Another hard fought game this week in our ongoing Ladies V Men Touch Rugby Battle 🏉

Well done to everyone who came and gave it their all - especially our Woman of The Match this week, Leigh-Ann!

We are all looking forward to final face off this coming Thursday 4 June - stay tuned everyone...

It may be an automatic win, but we'll take it!

Last week the men were too scared to show-up - stay tuned to find out what happens tomorrow, when we are scheduled to face them on the pitch again in our next round of this season's Touch Battle.

There are 6 spaces left on the Safeguarding rugby Course for coaching and volunteering to coach young players….in preparation for the Youth Development Team. If you would like to participate please DM me and I will arrange.

Step 1) Online e-learning course (free 20 minute course required prior to face to face course)

Step 2) Book on the face to face safeguarding course being hosted at Cliffe village club by the RFU Development Team (Monday 15th June 7-10pm) This course is only £15

Step 3) The RFU will carry out an enhanced DBS check

Please note there are no walk ins for this course.

Each age group requires minimum of 3 coaches/volunteers. We are putting young rugby into the village. Reach out if you want to be part of it

Another hard fought battle between the Ladies and the Men at last night's Touch game, ultimately ending in a 12-7 defeat, but we shall not be deterred!!

Stay tuned for next week when our girls intend to show up re-focussed and stronger than ever 💪

Special mentions to our 'Woman of the Match' Paegan Taylor, scoring the first try and staying strong on the pitch throughout the game. 'Sn**ch of the Match' this week was Karmel, for the most dropped balls 🤭 woops.

This coming Thursday brings another Cliffe Ladies vs Cliffe Mens Touch Rugby match at 7pm at the rec. Whilst the game is taking place there will be an opportunity for newcomers to take part in some fitness training and basic touch rugby drills as a tester for anyone willing to try out for the ladies team. You do not need any experience. We have a team of people willing to teach you the rules and show you the basics. What will it hurt to turn up and give it a try!! Bring a friend and get stuck in for an hour and watch the fun. Drinks in the club house afterwards. When you arrive, ask for Jess 🩷🖤
