The Berries made it 3/3 over the weekend with another win on Sunday!
After a 3 week break, the Sunday side welcomed New Ifield to Frogs Island. With skipper Bailey losing the toss, New Ifield elected to bat first. Tight bowling and regular wickets restricted the opposition to 166, with a notable score of 61 from New Ifield’s number 2.
In reply, the hosts got off to a rough start, falling 18-4 after a strong opening bowling spell. Fahim Ahmed came to the crease to join Bala and the pair steadied the ship. Some spectacular ball striking from Fahim, and great support from Dhruvin got us close to the target. A final flurry of boundaries took us over the line just before the last over, completing a thrilling chase.
MOTM: Fahim for his match winning 84*

FCC 2nd XI made it four wins from four with a nail-biting one-wicket victory away at Lordswood.
After losing the toss, FCC produced another disciplined bowling display to dismiss the hosts for 146 in 37.2 overs. led the way with 3-27, while and picked up two wickets each. Contributions from and ensured Lordswood never got away, with Joseph Middleton’s 35 the highest score of the innings.
The chase was anything but straightforward. On a tricky surface, Keith Hutchinson (33), Bhagya Jayasiri (24) and (21) all dug in, but regular wickets meant FCC were never quite in control.
With the game heading for a dramatic finish, Pemba’s late cameo swung the momentum back towards FCC before the visitors found themselves needing the final runs with just one wicket remaining. Thankfully, unlike Arsenal in a Champions League final, FCC held their nerve when it mattered most. Payney, Nayan and Dhruvin somehow found a way over the line, sealing victory with just one ball to spare.
Four wins from four, plenty of heart attacks, and FCC 2nd XI keep marching on.
MOTM: Keith Hutchinson

A remarkable Saturday afternoon at Frindsbury Cricket Club…
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Berries made one of their worst starts to an innings in a long time. The collapse of the top order saw the home team at 18-5 from 8 overs, a real shock considering their flying start to the season.
Determined to change the sides fortunes, Was Zakir joined Jacob Knight in the middle and began to fight back. By the 33rd over, Was had brought up a magnificent 100 to rescue the side back to 160-5 at this stage. But the pair weren’t done, with a well crafted 50 from Jacob in support, Was continued to do the damage as the two put on a monster 201 partnership, Was finishing on 151!
The Roebucks came out in pursuit of 255 but never really got going thanks to good spells from both opening bowlers. Regular wickets, including 4 from Mark Gracey, saw the opposition bowled out for 156 inside 39 overs, just in time for the players of an Arsenal persuasion to catch extra time!
The 1XI keep marching on 💙

FCC 2nd XI made it three wins from three with a thrilling 4-run victory over Rainham at Frog’s Island.
After winning the toss in glorious sunshine, skipper elected to bat first. FCC again lost early wickets, but a crucial partnership between and Akhil steadied the innings on a difficult surface. Some late big hitting from helped push FCC to 140 all out, with Sherhod and Khavare the standout bowlers for Rainham.
Rainham began the chase confidently before made the breakthrough, aided by a spectacular one-handed catch from that lifted FCC in the field. Rainham continued to press on through Jon Newton, who anchored the chase superbly, but a sharp catch from the stand-in wicketkeeper broke a key partnership and swung momentum back towards FCC.
The match went down to the final over, with Rainham needing 5 runs with one wicket remaining. Sandip (4-17) held his nerve brilliantly, dismissing Newton to seal a dramatic 4-run win for FCC.
Special mentions go to and Dhruvin for their disciplined spells, while Man of the Match was Shabbir Sayed for his resilient 42 that proved vital in keeping FCC competitive.
