Borstal CC 1st XI vs Whitstable CC 2nd XI Highlights
π Weekend Round-Up π
β
1st XI vs Whitstable 2nd XI β Won by 42 Runs
A brilliant team performance from the Boars saw us pick up another victory! πͺ
Half-centuries from our overseas Eddie and Dylan helped set a strong total, giving us plenty to defend. ππ₯
Whitstable started their chase as they have done in all their games this season, but after a couple of wickets fell, the Boars fought their way back into the contest and never looked back. ππ
β 2nd XI vs Gravesend 4th XI
A tough afternoon for the 2nd XI, but a special mention goes to The Wizard for his excellent 4-wicket haul π©β¨
β 3rd XI vs Kings Hill 4th XI
So close for the 3s, falling just 8 runs short of victory.
A lovely knock of 60 from Mike kept us right in the hunt and nearly got us over the line. ππ
β KVCL XI lost to Newenden
A day to forget for the KVCL side after being bowled out cheaply in a low-scoring game all round.
Credit where itβs due to Chirag on a fine 5-wicket haul ππ―
Sunday Boars fall to 2nd in the table but still all to play for π

10 Wickets from the Boars vs Bapchild from Saturday
βοΈπ₯΅ The Boars were absolutely BAKING in the sun this weekendβ¦ and still bringing the heat on the pitch! ππ
β
1st XI got the green light on the board against Lordswood!
A scorching 100-run partnership from Sam & Dylan set the tone for Borstals innings, before wickets fell steadily in the Lordswood innings to seal a Borstal win in the blazing sunshine π₯
βοΈ The 2nd XI were loving the hot conditions too, with Danny and Fish putting on a sizzling 92-run stand.
Danny finished unbeaten on 73* while Fish added a helpful 50 π
In reply, Bapchild made 143 with wickets shared between Pai, Anuj, Tarv and Fish πͺ
π₯΅ The 3rd XI faced a strong Faversham 2nd XI under the roasting sun, with the visitors posting 241.
Despite the heat and hard work in the field, Borstal couldnβt quite chase it down β but a special shoutout to Lewis Allan for a brilliant 66 ππ₯
π― Special mention to Nathan Dandeniya for a red-hot century (100 retired not out) in Sundayβs friendly against Kings Hill! What a knock in the summer heat βοΈπ

βοΈπ W&Gs MAY DAY COMPLETED ! πβοΈ
Hugely encouraging day for the Borstal W&Gs, with plenty of positives to take from two hard-fought games in the heat πͺπ₯
π Cobham CC
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, the girls got off to a solid start with some excellent partnerships and smart running between the wickets π
We posted 208, but late wickets slowed the momentum at the end of the innings. Cobham chased confidently and reached the target to take the win.
π High Halstow
The second game saw a brilliant effort in the field despite the scorching conditions βοΈ
Sharp fielding, disciplined bowling, and relentless energy helped restrict High Halstow to 261 π₯
Our batting response showed real intent from ball one π
Boundaries flowed, partnerships grew, and the running between the wickets kept the scoreboard ticking all innings long. We finished on 247 β just short of the target β but it was a fantastic fightback full of positives π
π Massive effort from everyone across both matches:
β
Improved batting intent
β
Strong team spirit
β
Great energy in the field
β
Plenty to build on going forward
Onwards and upwards for the W&Gs πͺπ Matchday HardWorkPaysOff CricketLife
