In loving Memory - Angela Munro.
It is with a very broken heart that I must inform everyone that Angela Munro passed away on 5th September.
Known to us all as Ang, Angie or to me as “Amigo”, Angela learnt to dive with us back in 1999 passing her PADI Open Water and Advanced on a club trip to Nuweiba in March 2000.
After that there was no stopping her, quickly going through the diving ranks. She could do this as she was never out the water. She achieved PADI Instructor status in 2002 and PADI Master Instructor rating in 2009.
Throughout the last 26 years there hasn’t been many UK and Overseas trips that Angela missed, she trained many of our divers. It became a standing joke at one stage that a club trip wasn’t official unless Angela was on it.
Angela was passionate and loved, to dive. If she was your buddy or assigned Instructor, you know you were in for an amazing dive. She was patient, caring and good fun to be with underwater.
She had a great knack of finding Octopus which was her favourite underwater creature to film. I personally enjoyed every dive with her and those underwater memories will be everlasting.
Topside she was a good laugh too, always in the thick of things and up for a practical joke, which often backfired. Her laugh was infectious and often got those around her going too.
All of you reading this, I am sure, will have your own special memories.
Personally, she was an amazing friend, like a big sister I never had. She would do anything for you, constantly jigging work, family, and diving commitments to help whenever she could.
We shared lifetime events both joyful and sad. “I will always help you” she would say.
I am sure you will all join me in sending our sincere condolences to Angela’s family. Your Mum will never be forgotten; we have priceless and countless memories.
