Over 70% of hamstring tears happen during eccentric loading, with a 35% chance of reinjury during the month of return to play. Since working in football the volumne of hamstring tears I have heard of, witnessed is frightening. What is more frightening is the advice players are getting!
The true answer to having stronger, more loadable and durable hamstrings is simple! Make them brutally strong, large, and stable whilst in a lengthened position. The following exercise used with professional football Kevin Lokko is a great example of Eccentrical loading the hamstrings whilst working the assisting Adductors during the movement. ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ Perform 3 - 6 sets of 5-10 Reps depending on your training experience, time of week, month or season
