Here is the the latest list of riders entered for the Thruxton Closed Circuit Championships on the 11th October. The events start at 10:30 with the "Open Category" followed by the Females. Once the solo events have finished there will be a break to feed the time keepers & do the presentations. After the pasties & beans the team events will begin.

Elliott Colyer once again brings you "The Zig Zag Hillclimb that featured last year on "The GNC Show", but let Elliott tell us about it.

"The ZigZag Hill Climb returns for its second year! 3.8km, three hairpins and scenic views across Dorset once you've climbed out of the trees. (I can't promise the tailwind from last year though!)The team competition also returns, with teams of three competing for the fastest combined time. Last year Southampton University CC won the female competition, with AeroCLCTV taking the open competition.
There’ll also be professional photography once again thanks to PelotonPix, and barista coffee from Bamboo Coffee.

Racing Team Ravenna are bringing you two time trials on the same Sunday. Their usual one on Knights Hill at Goodwood will be in the morning & the Turkey Island climb at Harting will be in the afternoon. Both events are "Open Events" so will qualify for the National Hillclimb Championships (which last year was oversubscribed even with 460 on the start sheet) & National Rankings unlike club event climbs.

September starts next week & there is an open event each week starting with the Paceline 25-mile TT on the 6th September (entry list so far below). The the following week (13th) Poole Wheelers are doing honours with a ten on the P412/10. We then move to the New Forest on the 20th September where the New Forest CC have donkey dodging 10-mile TT on the P164|R2 with a comfortable 09:00 start. September finishes with a Racing Team Ravenna Double Headbanger Hillclimb. The morning event is the popular Knights Hill, we then move to the South Harting for the climb from Turkey Island in the afternoon. Both Hillclimb's being "open events" are qualifiers for the National Hillclimb. So a busy month, sop who says there nothing to do?

Congratulations to Izzy Sharp who today (Sunday 23rd Aug) took the new Women's South DC Allcomers 10-mile Record with a stunning 00:19:34 at the ...a3crg event on the P881/10. Previously . . . . The Women's Record has been held since 2007 (yes we had rim bakes then & rode on tubs) by Wendy Houvenaghel with a 00:19:50 set on the P613 Thruxton/Andover course.

A few quality pictures from Kevin Cornish at todays Southdown Velo's Fontwell Gallop (10-mile tt). Henry Austin was first overall with a 20:06 & Nik Allen was fastest on a Road Bike in 21:29. The next event on the P901/10 will be on the 16th August again run by Shaun Smart & no doubt Kevin will be taking super snaps.

That shallot, it was a splendid afternoon on the "old"A3 (The Portsmouth Road) for the only open time trial to be held on a Saturday afternoon this year (there could be another). This was Petersfield Triathlon clubs first first open tt promotion, they found it a easier than organising a Triathlon with the swimming stage, as there were no reported cases of dandruff 😂We look forward to more of their events.
