This weekend, Sherfield English Women take on Fleet Spurs Women in the Junior Cup! ⚽️💚

Fleet Spurs currently play in Division 7 and have made a fantastic start to their season, winning all three of their opening games. 👏

We know it’s going to be a tough test for the ladies, but it’s one we’re more than ready for! 💪 We’re looking forward to getting out there, giving it everything and seeing what we can do.

We’re also looking forward to welcoming Fleet Spurs Women to Sherfield English and hope you can get down and support the ladies! 💚🖤

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH | AIMEE BAKER 🏆

What a performance from Aimee! 💚👏

Aimee was deservedly awarded Player of the Match after an outstanding afternoon on the pitch, contributing 2 goals and 1 assist in our 4–2 victory over Solent Sport Alliance. ⚽️🔥

She showed exactly why she is such a threat when playing up top. Her hold-up play, strength and vision caused problems throughout the game, bringing others into play and creating opportunities for her teammates.

Her first goal was taken brilliantly at the front post, showing great instinct to get there and finish. But her second was something special… a 20-yard strike from outside the box that sailed over the keeper and into the net! 🚀⚽️

Aimee was a constant threat and played a huge part in helping us secure all 3 points.

Congratulations Aimee — thoroughly deserved! 💚👏

💚 FULL TIME | SHERFIELD ENGLISH WOMEN 4–2 SOLENT SPORT ALLIANCE 💚

What a performance from the ladies! 👏⚽️

Yesterday we played our first home game of the season and what a game it was!💚

We took the lead early on, but Solent equalised shortly after. The ladies kept pushing and were rewarded with another goal just before half time to go into the break 2–1 up.

We came out for the second half exactly how we started the first — wanting the ball, creating chances and putting pressure on Solent. We managed to find the net twice more, while Solent added another of their own to make it 4–2 at full time. 🔥

Playing with a bare 11 players and no substitutes, this was a huge effort from every single player. The ladies dug deep, battled until the final whistle and never let their heads drop. The determination, teamwork and belief to see the game out and secure all 3 points was brilliant to watch. 💚

A massive well done to every single one of you — a proper team performance! 👏💚

It’s time for our second match of the season! ⚽️

After a tough opening game last weekend, the ladies are back at home and ready to go again as we welcome Solent Sport Alliance to Sherfield English! 💪

We’ll be looking to put in a strong performance, battle for every ball and hopefully get those first points on the board! 🟢

The cup draw was made yesterday and we now know our opponents! 👀⚽️

We’ve been drawn against Division 7 side Fleet Spurs Women in what promises to be an exciting cup tie!

Fleet Spurs are a new team who have made some decent signings this season, so we know we’ll have a tough challenge on our hands, but one we are looking forward to!💪

We’re looking forward to welcoming Fleet Spurs to Sherfield English Recreation Ground on Sunday 27th September, with a 2pm kick-off. 💚

💚 FULL TIME | Lymington Ladies 9–0 Sherfield English Women 💚

A tough one for Sherfield Women yesterday as we got our first game of the season underway against a strong Lymington side.

Going into the game, we were already missing some key players after picking up a few injuries during pre-season. Despite that, the girls battled hard and created chances, but Lymington’s defence stood strong and made it difficult for us to capitalise.

Things got even tougher when we lost our goalkeeper to injury for the final 10 minutes of the first half. Lisi stepped up and took on the goalkeeper position until half time, showing the team spirit and commitment we have within the squad. 🧤👏

The second half saw us move the ball around much better and create more opportunities, but unfortunately we just couldn’t find the finish.

It’s not the result we wanted, but there were positives to take and plenty for us to work on. We’ll regroup, get back to the training ground and put the work in before our first home game next Sunday. 💪

We’re delighted to announce our leadership team for the upcoming season! 👏⚽

👑 Captain – Emily Martin
Emily enters her second season with us and steps into the captaincy role. A fantastic No.10 with bags of skill, confidence and experience. Not afraid to have a go from distance as we’ve seen last season. We have no doubt she’ll excel in this role and lead the ladies from the front! 💚

⭐ Vice Captain – Lisi Bowers
Also entering her second season with Sherfield, Lisi is one of our most versatile players. You’ll see her in all sorts of positions across the pitch — from defence, to goalkeeper, to winger, her natural position! 😂
Lisi brings confidence, skill and experience wherever she plays, and she certainly knows where the goal is too! ⚽🔥 Her positivity and willingness to step up wherever needed makes her a fantastic choice for vice captain.

We’re incredibly excited to have Emily and Lisi leading the team this season. Both bring experience, positivity, confidence and plenty of character, and we know they’ll be fantastic leaders both on and off the pitch. 💚

The wait is finally over… the 2026/27 season starts this Sunday! 🙌

We kick off our season away to Lymington Ladies and the whole team is excited to get going after a busy pre-season. We’ve put in the hard work, had some great minutes together and now we’re ready to get the season underway!⚽️

FULL TIME ⚽️💚

That brings our pre-season campaign to a close! 💪

With a bare 11 and no substitutes, the ladies put in a fantastic shift against BTC Southampton. We played some really good football, had plenty of attacking play which led to us scoring which now brings our striker to 2 in 2. We showed some great spells of possession and teamwork throughout the game.

We probably would have held BTC at bay for a lot longer… had captain Lisi not kindly opened the scoring for them with an own goal 🤣🤦‍♀️

Jokes aside, the whole team put in a brilliant performance and there were plenty of positives to take from our final pre-season game.

Four games, plenty of minutes in the legs and lots learned along the way — we’re feeling confident and ready for the season to start in September! 💚⚽️

We take on BTC Southampton as we continue preparing for the new season. Another great opportunity to get valuable minutes in the legs, build on our performances and keep developing as a team. 💪
