💛💙 FULL TIME | Rossington FC Women 1–3 Bramley Stingers 💙💛

Not the girls’ day today unfortunately, as we fell to a 3–1 defeat away to Bramley Stingers.

With just 12 players available, including a few girls carrying knocks and illnesses, the team knew it was always going to be a tough test. A sloppy start saw us go 1–0 down, but the girls quickly woke up and responded in style!

Right back Hayley decided to have a go from what felt like miles out, with the ball looping beautifully over the keeper and into the back of the net! ⚽️ What a way to get her first goal for the team! 💛💙

Unfortunately, we just couldn’t find the back of the net again today. There were plenty of chances created, particularly down the wings, but things just weren’t quite clicking in the final third.

The scoreline certainly doesn’t reflect the effort and commitment shown by the girls. They stuck together through thick and thin, worked their socks off for each other and battled right until the final whistle. On another day, those chances would have been going in and we’d have been coming home with the three points.

🏆 POTM: The whole team!

Today’s Player of the Match goes to everyone for their commitment, work-rate and determination despite the difficult circumstances. A special shoutout to Hayley, not only for her first goal in a Rosso shirt but for being an absolute rock at the back as always. 👏

A huge thank you to Bramley Stingers for hosting us and for the support throughout the match. We look forward to another great game next weekend — this time on our turf! 🏠

The girls will be looking to bounce back strongly. 💪

🔵🟡 ROSSINGTON FC | FIRST TEAM MATCH REPORT 🟡🔵

🏆 BUCKINGHAM INSURANCE CUP
⚽ ROSSINGTON FC 4–0 FRICKLEY ATHLETIC RESERVES

💛💙 ROSSO THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND! 💛💙

A home tie in the Buckingham Insurance Cup was on the cards today as Rossington FC welcomed Frickley Athletic Reserves to the Welfare, with a place in the next round up for grabs.

🔥 FIRST HALF

Rossington started positively and looked to take control of the tie, with the breakthrough arriving through Fin Perkins, who rose highest to power home a fantastic header from a corner.

Despite creating opportunities to extend the advantage, Rosso went into the break with just the one goal separating the sides.

⚡ SECOND HALF

The second half continued in much the same fashion, with Rossington looking to find that all-important second goal and put the tie beyond reach.

That moment finally arrived late on when Lee Holmes found the net to double Rosso’s advantage and open the floodgates!

There was no stopping Rossington from there, as Leo Graham added a third before Marcel Chipamaunga rounded off the scoring to complete an emphatic 4–0 victory.

🏆 INTO THE NEXT ROUND!

👏 MAN OF THE MATCH: FIN PERKINS ⭐

Another outstanding home performance from Fin, who not only got himself on the scoresheet with a superb header but also delivered a fantastic all-round display.

Two home MOTM awards in a row! 👏💛💙

🔵🟡 ROSSINGTON FC DEVELOPMENT | MATCH REPORT 🔵🟡

⚽ KIRTON BRICKWORKS 1–3 ROSSINGTON FC DEVELOPMENT ⚽
🏆 Central Midlands League – Division One North

🚗 ROSSO ON THE ROAD… AND THREE POINTS IN THE BAG! 💛💙

Rossington FC Development made the trip to Kirton in Nottinghamshire today and returned home with all three points after an impressive 3–1 victory over Kirton Brickworks!

🔥 A RAPID START!

The Development side wasted little time getting going, with Townend finding the net early doors to give Rosso the perfect start!

Baskerville doubled the advantage on the 25-minute mark, before Cantrill capped off a strong Rossington performance with a third on 55 minutes. 💥

🤣 GOAL OF THE DAY… JUST THE WRONG END!

The moment everyone will be talking about came when another Rossington player found the back of the net!

An absolutely unbelievable volley… unfortunately, for Greeeeeny, it sailed over his own goalkeeper and into the Rosso net! 😭😂

Hard lines, Greeny! We’ll give you the technique… just not the direction! 🤣👏

🌟 MORE SENIOR DEBUTS!

Another brilliant moment for the club as Taio Anthony and Will Wales both made their debuts in men’s football today.

Development manager Ryan continues to provide opportunities for our U18 players, giving them the chance to take that next step from junior football into the senior game.

It’s exactly what our pathway is all about! 💛💙

👏 Congratulations, lads — hopefully the first of many appearances in senior football!
