Women’s County Finals - Day 3🏆

⛳️ It’s advantage Renfrewshire as the race for the title enters the home straight….🏃‍♀️

A 2-1 success in the morning foursomes keeps Jan Macnab’s team top of the table as it stands.

Sabrina Wong and Lucie Barclay put a point on the board as did Jennifer Rankine and Melissa Keay - helped by a monster putt from Melissa to seal the win!

Lucie is now 5 from 5 going into the singles! 💪

North - the defending champs - need a turnaround in the six afternoon singles to have any hopes of overall victory.

⛳️ Stirling and Clackmannan’s title ambitions were dented when Dumfriesshire edged the foursomes 2-1.

Having been down in all three matches at one stage in the back nine, Dumfriesshire rallied.

Cori Lee and Alice Murphy turned it around to win their match on 18.

Carla Morris and Katie Malcolm also took a fine point with a 2&1 win

For Stirling and Clacks, Erin Huskie and Ava Paterson won a point to remain unbeaten in foursomes.

Stirling and Clacks need a strong singles showing and a win to keep alive their chances of pipping Renfrewshire or North to the crown.

Women’s County Finals - Day Two 🏆

What a day we’ve enjoyed and what a final day we have in prospect!🤩

Three of our four teams will go into tomorrow harbouring hopes of becoming national champions.

⛳️ Today, Renfrewshire faced Stirling and Clackmannan with the match finishing all square (4.5-4.5).

Nothing could separate them in the morning foursomes session (1.5-1.5) and it was still honours even after six tough afternoon singles.

That puts both teams level on 1.5 points in the overall contest and separated by only half a match point. Renfrewshire edge that by 12-11.5!

Both teams will aim to win their final contest, finish the series unbeaten - and then look to individual match points to decide the victor.

⛳️ But wait a minute - defending champions North are ALSO still in the hunt. Just!

Today, they notched their first win by beating Dumfriesshire 7-2.

That means they have an outside chance of defending their title if they can win their final match and the other result goes their way.

Calculators at the ready for day three of a thrilling tournament at Dunfermline Golf Club.🧮

Tomorrow, we have Stirling and Clacks v Dumfriesshire and North v Renfrewshire.

It promises to be a classic!

Women’s County Finals - Day Two 🏆

Morning foursomes

⛳️ Its honours even at lunch between Stirling/Clackmannan and Renfrewshire after a nip and tuck morning session was halved 1.5-1.5.

Wins for the Renfrewshire pairing of Sabrina Wong and Lucie Barclay and Stirling/Clacks combo of Eva Woodward and Erin McAlpine meant it was down to the remaining match on the course.

Erin Huskie’s six-foot birdie putt on 18 secured a half for her and partner Ava Paterson against Renfrewshire’s Melissa Keay and Jennifer Rankine.

⛳️ North bounced back well from the disappointment of a day one loss to take a commanding 3-0 lead against Dumfriesshire after their morning foursomes.

Carinne Taylor and Sammy Fotheringham, Caitlin McNaughton and Cara Thompson and Eleanor Tunn and Ellie Docherty were the dynamic double acts for the defending champs.

🔜This afternoon we have the singles - six in each match with all to play for.
