Well I've just paid my fees for Wharncliffe res. Can't wait to get back fishing again at such a nice place.

Well after a year off due to one thing and another I'm off fishing again tomorrow.
Can't bloody wait, hope I can remember how to cast, can see there are going to be alot of tangles in the trees.
Weather forecast is rain but with a beautiful canopy of trees overhead I don't think it will bother me.
So looking forward to it, I'm getting that feeling I used to get as a kid on Xmas eve.
I will be taking a 7foot 3 # and just flick it about and see how I go.
If I don't catch I don't catch.
I know alot say this but I mean it, 80% of the pleasure I gain from river fishing is being in the middle of the water surrounded by beauty and wildlife and no people.
No im not a miserable sod, I'm very sociable but it just nice.
You fishermen know what I'm on about.

What dry flies are everyone trying on the Stillwaters at the moment

Went fishing yesterday, got a few on dries best a 3ld raindow

Been to wharncliffe today and blanked. Fished dried cos they were topping. Others caught on lures but if they topping i will only dry fly on principle

Been to wharncliffe res today for a couple of hours.
There were about 12 people there which I think is the busiest I've ever seen it.
Caught 1 about 2.5ld rainbow on a dry daddy, caught like a trooper.
Hope to go on Saturday.

Well went fishing on Saturday 25th and blanked again.
Bought a new floating snowbee xs plus line. The flipping thing is 150 foot long. Bet I dont even need any backing on real as there wont be any room.
Anyone ever used one of these lines ?
