Our U15 girls squad for the 26/27 season for both Saturdays in the JPL and Sundays in the SJDSL.

06/09/2026

Match report from the U15 girls today.

Tough start to the new season in a higher division against Middlewood, but one we'll gain from.

First half we dealt well enough with largely direct play on a poor pitch to come in at nil nil and then hoped to kick on second half.

Second half though.. we'd summarise as 'somewhat bewildered'. A penalty converted from an unclaimed, point blank handball and an offside goal soon saw us chasing the game.

Deni managed to score a great individual goal for 2-1! Lily was then taken down through on goal and a penalty awarded.. As Caden stood with ball in hand, the decision was then reversed(?!) Disappointment at this and other decisions up to that point could be seen right through the team and soon further compounded when a foul in our box was waved on for Middlewood to come again to score a third.

A late Middlewood fourth effectively finished a game that had arguably already been killed.

A second half with questionable decisions and inconsistencies both ways, but unfortunately we bore the brunt of several key ones. By the end, Middlewood were good value for their win based on chances.

Sunday action coming in from the 1st weekend of the season

Millmoor U13s 2 - 1 Sheffield Steelers

The new U13s kicked off the season with a win against a very strong Steelers team, who won their division last season.

They scored early in the first half and the team had to dig deep and battle to get back in the game.

Second half we swapped things around to give us more strength and speed up front and it worked well with two well taken goals coming late in the second half.

Great team performance and a cracking start to the season. Well done ⚽️👏

What a fantastic performance from the girls today! 💪⚽️

A brilliant 5-0 win against Sheff Blk !! The girls worked so hard from start to finish and thoroughly deserved the win.🔥🔥⚽️⚽️🔥🔥⚽️⚽️🔥

Cerys was absolutely outstanding grabbing a fantastic Hattrick ⚽️⚽️⚽️ what a performance !! Katie was also superb and is going to be a cracker of a player also scoring a superb goal ⚽️

Leona took her goal really well showing great composure in front of the goal. Nevaeh was really impressive alongside Lou and Kodie, who also put in excellent performances.

There was also some great displays from Robyn, Chloe Evie Emily Ava Mia Olivia Angel Sophie and Captain Clark who led the team brilliantly her leadership composure and commitment were clear throughout the match. The five goals were reward for a dominant display but the clean sheet was just as important. Everyone worked together defending strongly and showing excellent team commitment. it just shows exactly what it means to play as a team.🔥⚽️

Another team at home today was our u12 girls blacks

⚽❤️🖤 FIRST LEAGUE GAME — AND LOTS TO BUILD ON! 🖤❤️⚽

Today our Millmoor U12 Girls Blacks played their first league game of the season against AG Sports.

For a lot of our girls, this was their first real taste of competitive league football, and the nerves definitely showed early on. We went into half-time 2–0 down, but the message was simple:

Be brave. Get wide. Show what we've learnt.

And that second-half response was exactly what we wanted to see. ❤️

The girls played with more adventure, competed harder in their 1v1s and started finding the width and creating opportunities. We even rattled the crossbar! AG Sports took their chances and ran out 5–0 winners, but for us, today was about much more than the scoreline.

These are the experiences the girls need. Every game gives them more confidence, more understanding and another opportunity to put their learning into practice.

⭐ Girl of the Game — Izzy Lacey ⭐
Izzy was outstanding. Composed, hardworking and excellent defensively, she kept going from the first whistle to the last and helped keep the team organised throughout. Well done, Izzy! 👏❤️🖤

A tough first league lesson, but plenty to take forward.

Braver today. Stronger tomorrow. 💪

Our U15 girls started their new JPL challenge this season in today’s home again against Sheffield Wednesday. Coach’s report below 👇

The U15 girls began their JPL Warriors cup campaign today, welcoming familiar rivals in Sheffield Wednesday Ladies. Two players down and one back from recovery this week, the girls needed to stand up and certainly did.

Millmoor opened the scoring mid-way through the first quarter through Ella's brilliant free kick, but were later ruing missed opportunities.. Just before the quarter break, Sheffield Wednesday's right winger took advantage of a trip to stride on and finish well from outside the box.

The middle section of the game was fairly even. Millmoor had defended a long throw very well all day and created a few opportunities which were sadly lacking any real conviction in their final strikes.

Playing in quarters is a little strange and the final quarter actually began from a Sheffield Wednesday corner, but Millmoor defended this well and quickly settled back into the flow of the game.. An early alteration at the top end of the pitch tilted the game's poise. Maisie began to link play and find good spaces amongst seeing a low driven effort hit the base of the post. Soon after, Caden's corner was met brilliantly by an onrushing Maisie to head low under a reaching keeper. Millmoor pushed on again and almost immediately after, Molly's pressing was a catalyst in her receiving a ball from Caden to fire home emphatically for 3-1!

Wednesday pushed numbers forward and whilst Millmoor had defended their box well, one long throw did squirm through on 73 minutes to set the final minutes up nicely (for the neutral). Several more long throws were well defended, and Deni kept the Wednesday defence honest.

Overall the girls had defended their box well and had a good share of chances. They'd hit the bar and post amongst several other opportunities against a good Wednesday keeper and deserving of their opening day win.

Sophia H, Maisie and Molly with awards. Well done everyone.
