RCA Cheer-Litter Pickers

We just want to say a HUGE thank you to everybody who donated to us and supported us raising some money for our trip. We appreciate every single penny you were able to share with us as we know how hard times are at the moment. We hope you think we did a good job cleaning up across the borough too!

We've just completed our "Hell Week" where we've trained every day preparing and finishing our routines, here's a photo of some of our outfits we wore to keep the training fun. We're exhausted now but so excited to fly on Sunday ready to compete at All Star Worlds on Tuesday with our teams.

We really truly appreciate all your support and we're going to do our very best to make South Yorkshire proud!

We've been really busy at school, training, showcase and done our first two competitions of the season which we loved!

Half Term means some more litter picking for us. We're trying to decide where to go this week 🤔

📌 Thorpe Hesley Park, Barnsley Road, Thorpe Hesley

It was a chilly one this morning in Thorpe Hesley! It looked pretty clean when we first got there but on closer look we discovered hundreds of sweets and chocolate wrappers!

We also helped the man from Chevron Traffic Management find his missing roadworks signs that had been thrown in a bush!

A lovely lady in the park told us this park gets pretty messy in the school holidays so we might put this one on our October Half Term list!

📌 Greasbrough Play Area, Fenton Road, Rotherham

We've had a really busy week this week with training, being back at school, homework and a few other events but we finally got our litter pickers out this afternoon and luckily the rain stopped for us!

Wow Greasbrough, this was a much bigger job than we expected!! We lost count of how many Co-op bakery/sausage roll wrappers we collected and clearly someone on the area has a pretty serious Orange Boost addiction (look at our photos)!! 😱😱

We did our best and we hope you can tell the difference and perhaps you and your kids might enjoy it a little bit more if you're in the area in the next few days.

Wow, what a lot of litter has been dropped on the field and surrounding the park, football pitch and near the exercise equipment! We could definitely have filled more bags if we'd had more time!

Also, a huge thank you to Wath, West Melton & Brampton Litter Pickers for providing us with some proper equipment, we really appreciate it ❤️

We've been out picking up litter at Gilroyd this morning.

We couldn't believe the difference we made just in the 20 minutes. We'll be back here again in the future for sure!

Hi Everyone,

We're Skye (12) and Alicia (10). We're sisters and best friends and we also compete together on our cheer and dance teams for Rotherham Cheerleading Academy.

We've been working really hard for years now and have earned the most amazing opportunity to go to an All Star Worlds competition in Florida in April 2025 to compete against other Cheer, Lyrical and Hip-Hop teams from all over the world. We're really proud of ourselves, our team mates and the club we represent.

We want to show the world what kids Rotherham and South Yorkshire can do!

Our parents have set us a challenge to find a way to raise some money to help them pay for some of our uniform and kit.

We decided we didn't just want to raise money, we want to make a difference and do something good at the same time too!!

So we've decided at least once a week, no matter the weather, we will go out and litter pick across different parks and play areas in the Rotherham, Sheffield and Barnsley area.

You'll be able to spot us in our RCA tops and we'd love your suggestions on where we can go next each week too!

We will post weekly updates on here.
