Yesterday we had one of our busiest competitions of the year “The Glengarry Masters 4 person team” 22 teams took to the hallowed links, with the cards being an absolute mess by some of the markers meant that 5 of the scores found the fire before being entered into the computer 😂

Sponsors Jimmy and Hazel Reid always make it an enjoyable day and the sh***un start definitely helped make the day go well.

Winners on the day this year were the young Venice Beach bodydonnas of CJ McMillan and Josh Cowan along with Happy Gilmours caddy Robert Lowrie and piddles apprentice Ewan Mulholland, with an outstanding score of 123, with Ewans shot at the 18th being the highlight of the day.

Well done lads.

Second place went to rugby club alumni of Angus Murray, Ivan Cowie and Michael Murty along with their 4th man dentakys newest pin up Andy Doc on 124.

Third this year were the ever present Davie Coll, Jim Hoey, Graham Mcarthur and Ted McDonald on 125.

Best scratch score receiving the friendship trophy was Iain Simpson with a level par 69, previous scratch winners George Reynolds (4 times) Willie Glen and Craig Charker were in attendance to witness this longstanding part of the Glengarry masters day.

On the course prizes were won by….

Ntp in 2 @3 Carl Kelly

NTL @4 Richie Smith

Longest Drive @6 Donnie McDermid (3 wood)

Ntp @8 Garry Steele

Ntp @11 Sparky

Ntp @13 Ryan Couse

After an over 20 year sabbatical The Taverna Open made it’s return the Rothesay’s golfing calendar.

Over 60 players took to the course for a
sh***un start in somewhat wild conditions with “De Chambeau” Donnie McDermid coming out on top with an excellent gross 74 for a nett 69 with his putter on absolute fire, to pip “the bridesmaid “ Iain McDonald, by virtue of the better inward half, with the 18th hole quadruple bogey ultimately being Iain’s undoing as he waits for his first ever singles win.

Well done Donnie 👍🏻

Donald Standaloft also made it a day for the Donnies by claiming the scratch prize after a gross 73, declaring himself the king of the sheese in doing so, with his understudies Malky Varney-Brown and John McBride sharing second a further 4 shots back.

Full results for the day….
