⛳ The story of Rowlands Castle Golf Club began in 1902…
On 27 February 1902, the inaugural meeting of Rowlands Castle Golf Club took place. Membership for the first two years cost just two guineas, and the club’s first clubhouse was a used railway carriage purchased for £10.
The original course was a 9-hole layout, built with little more than shovels, horses and hard work.
Then, in 1922, a new 18-hole layout designed by renowned golf course architect Harry C**t officially opened – creating a golfing heritage that Rowlands Castle proudly carries forward today.
More than 120 years later, the club has evolved considerably, but its history and character remain an important part of what makes Rowlands Castle special.
From humble beginnings to the club we know today – over a century of golf, community and tradition. 🏌️
