⚽ GOALKEEPER NEEDED – SUNDAY 🧤

We’re looking for a keeper to help us out this Sunday for an away fixture in Telford – 10am kick-off, as our regular keeper is away on holiday with his family.

Just looking for someone to come in and cover the game for us. Any ability considered!

Pre-Season Friendly vs Silhill FC ⚽️

Still with a few players missing, others playing out of position, a couple of trialists involved and plenty of rotation to get minutes into the squad, it was another good run-out and a competitive game despite the 3-2 defeat.

We created a lot of opportunities, hit the woodwork twice and probably should have done better with a few of our one-on-one chances.

All three goals we conceded ultimately came from our own mistakes rather than Silhill breaking us down and creating clear-cut opportunities. From a defensive point of view, that’s encouraging.

We were a little too slow and complacent playing out from the back in the first half, and Silhill punished us for two mistakes with two goals after we'd looked fairly comfortable in the game. We addressed that at half-time and improved in the second half.

The third came from a late penalty after we switched off while complaining about a free kick rather than playing to the whistle — another good lesson for the lads.

Plenty to work on, but overall we played some really good football and there was a lot to be pleased with.

After yesterday’s game as well, the fitness levels are looking very good and the squad is moving in the right direction.

Overall, very happy with the performance and another positive step in pre-season. ⚽️👍💙⚽️

Harvey is stepping up and representing us in goal for the U18s. 👏

It’s brilliant to see one of our lads getting the opportunity to step up so early in the season.

If anyone would like to go along and support Harvey, it would be great to see a few familiar faces there getting behind him and the team. 💙

Our pre season schedule continued today with a strong performance, from the off the lads were at it and didn’t let off the pressure all game.

The lads put into practice what we had worked on in training regarding defence shape and playing out in tight areas which was pleasing to see.

Some great goals scored, link up play was very good and all over fitness levels are high.

Well done all 🥳

Due to our opposition cancelling, Halesowen Town U16s are looking for a friendly this Saturday.

We cannot host, so it would need to be away, and we're happy to split the costs.

Looking for a mid-to-high level U16 or U18 side for a competitive pre-season game.

FULL TIME.... Coventry City development (eagles) FC 2 - 4 Halesowen Town FC

Another really good performance from the boys yesterday. We tried a slightly different shape due to personnel available, and played some excellent football against a strong, attacking side.

With only nine of our current squad available, we brought in a few trialists to make up the numbers. They all slotted into the team really well and gave a very good account of themselves.

It was pleasing to see how well we moved the ball around and worked together as a team. There are still a couple of things to work on, but overall, it was another valuable workout, a positive performance and another great result.

⚽ FULL-TIME: Forest Falcons 1–2 Halesowen Town

Yesterday, we faced Forest Falcons and came away with a 2–1 victory.

It wasn’t the prettiest of games, with the pitch being very dry, bobbly and small, which made it difficult for either side to play much flowing football. Very much a scrappy game, that said, it was still a good workout for both teams, with chances created at both ends.

Forest Falcons had a few good opportunities themselves, but Harvey pulled off a couple of excellent saves to keep us in front. We also missed a penalty and should have taken a couple more of our chances with their keeper also making some good saves.

After playing two games in two days, there were understandably a few tired legs out there. Most importantly, it was more valuable minutes and miles in the legs as the boys continue building their fitness.

We’re always looking to develop a winning mentality, and this was another positive result.
