As per previous years, this means that Archery Road will be closed to most traffic whilst the competitions are in play
However, the public area of Victoria Park, including the play area, paddling pool etc will remain open

The paddling pool is open today following yesterday’s closure for drainage and removal of smashed glass

A mum of two has just contacted us to say that she lost a beige-coloured child's blanket of great sentimental value this afternoon somewhere between the park and Archery Road facing the Bowls club

PADDLING POOL NOW OPEN!
Yesterday's announcement from Warwick District Council:
"29 July 2026
Following this morning’s opening of the St Nicholas Park paddling pool, we are happy to announce that the Victoria Park paddling pool is now open to the public (Wednesday 29 July).

Both pools are expected to be very busy in the coming days. So that everyone can enjoy the facilities safely visitors are advised to:
- wear non-slip pool shoes; and
- not exceed the maximum capacity of 130 at Victoria Park and 70 at St Nicholas Park as this may impact the performance of the water features
The paddling pools will be open daily from 10am to 6pm. Although they will not be supervised, a maintenance and care team will monitor cleanliness and visitor numbers throughout the day."

PADDLING POOLS - ANOTHER COUNCIL UPDATE
Warwick Disctrict Council - 28 July 2026
We are pleased to announce that the wait is over, and St Nicholas Park paddling pool in Warwick will open to the public on Wednesday 29 July, following the completion of final safety checks.

The pool is expected to be very busy. To help everyone enjoy it safely, visitors are advised to:
- wear non-slip pool shoes; and
- not exceed the maximum capacity of 70 as this may impact the performance of the water features
The paddling pool will be open daily from 10am to 6pm. Although it will not be supervised, a maintenance and care team will monitor cleanliness and visitor numbers throughout the day.

Victoria Park paddling pool is expected to open in the following days. The confirmed date and opening times will be announced soon.

PADDLING POOLS UPDATE
Yesterday (Friday), Warwick District Council posted the following:
"St Nicholas Park Paddling Pool update
The defect rectification programme for both the St Nicholas Park and Victoria Park pools is scheduled to be completed by the end of July, and the Council has been pushing the contractor hard to bring this date forward.
We had hoped that St Nicholas Park Paddling Pool would open to the public today in time for the weekend. Unfortunately we are unable to do this, as the facility has not been legally handed over to the Council by the contractor with the required certification.
The Council has been assured by the contractor that final checks and handover will now take place on Monday 27 July with Victoria Park to follow on Wednesday 29 July.
Whilst the St Nicholas Park paddling pool site might look open, it legally remains a construction site and must not be entered by members of the public until it is officially opened and the gates are unlocked."

Yesterday (Friday 17th) Warwick District Council posted on Facebook:
“Paddling pools update
We’re nearly there!
Final works and safety checks are being completed at St Nicholas Park paddling pool this weekend and we will be announcing the opening date early next week, with Victoria Park to follow soon afterwards

PADDLING POOL UPDATE - WITH CAVEATS!
Warwick District Council issued the following update yesterday (2nd July):
"Warwick District Council🌊 Paddling Pools update 🌊
The wetpour areas that previously failed are now being removed.
The new glass reinforced plastic (wetpour material) can’t be laid on damp concrete. Moisture tests were carried out at both sites to ensure they are dry enough for the material to be laid. The test failed at Victoria Park which has caused a slight delay, and might mean that Victoria Park opens slightly after St Nicholas Park.
Final works to the plant rooms are also scheduled to happen within the next couple of weeks.
The exact opening dates will be announced in the next couple of weeks and we’re still on course to have the first paddling pool open towards the end of this month, with Victoria Park following very shortly afterwards.
Of course there is the caveat that weather can still cause a delay to the opening. Rest assured that the project team is as keen to get the pools open as everyone else, and will provide further updates in due course."
