Thank you to Peter Turner and Worcestershire County Council for supporting our 2026-7 season of short mat bowling in St Chad's Church, Rubery, New Road. With their help, we are able to offer sessions every Monday evening, 6.30-8.30pm where we run a 'drop in' league structure each week. Anyone interested can message us or just turn up on the day. £2 per person, and please bring clean, flat shoes. We have the bowls.

Last night was our first night of 2026, and we had 14 attending, a great turn out on the mats. Trevor was our top bowler, winning in both his games - straight to the top of the table. Well done all.

Daisy is sulking because the green has been closed up for the end of the season. Don't worry though Daisy, 2027 will be on us before you know it, and there's always short mat, the presentation night, AGM, and club socials in the meantime!

Our Triple J competition was won on Bank Holiday Monday by Andy, John and Mike, beating Jerome, Alan and Ellen in a final that ended 21-15. The triples competition commemorates significant club members Jim Cowling, John Swingler and Johnny Mitchell, first held in 2021.

This year we saw a great turnout of 32 bowlers participating, and plenty of supporters throughout the day. After a preliminary round, we then went to quarters, sems, and then the final, completing a full day of bowling, (mostly) under sunshine.

Thanks to Ian Lawson for running the day, Steve Flood and his helpers for the amazing barbecue and cakes, and everyone who helped tidy up after - much appreciated.
