Ryde Saints Rangers Under 11’s Football Team

Proud of our boys observing a minutes silence today for poppy who tragically lost her life at her football training 💔 unfortunately todays result didn’t go our way after hosting a well drilled team that is Newport f.c we go again next weekend facing our other u11’s ryde saints tornadoes in a little ryde derby 💙 UTRS 💙

Today our boys headed to gurnard with the sunshine beaming for them and their amazing performance today, it was a great game from start to finish with some amazing goals from Luca 1 pen 1 top bins, Eli with 3 cracking goals and Leo who did the keeper dirty by chipping it overhead into the net, well done Jacob who was nominated for MOTM. next weekend we go to Eastleigh for the tournament on Saturday and then we host Newport at home on Sunday. Another Sunday, another soggy coach! The Rangers took the trip over to the south of the island to play Ventnor. The boys started slowly but grew into the game linking up some great passes and moving the ball well. Special mention to Mylan who got his first goal for the Rangers. And Oliver taking home

Another wet Sunday for the Rangers who took the trip to East Cowes. Strong performance from both teams in a well battled fair performance. Displayed a credit to island football. Lewis came out as the Rangers Player of the Match with an excellent contribution to his team providing 2 assists and one goal hitting the back of the net from a long drive from outside the box!
Also got to see the boys supporting the younger age groups with Matty and Oscar helping to warm up the U8 Dynamos!! Great club spirit!

Well done to Leo on bagging 2 goals and the player of the match trophy in his first game for us. Looking a bit damp but the bright Island Imperial Roofing LTD kit tried to hang on to summer. Also gets the opportunity to sport our new trophy! Our coach’s were happy for their Inspired home improvements and flooring sponsored jacket in the downpour.

Yesterday saw the Rangers play host to a team from Storrington who took the short hop down the south coast.
This was first pre season game for us as Under 11’s and it started positive with the Rangers holding the visiting team at bay for a large proportion of the game. This was helped by a man of the match performance from Oscar in goal, pulling out some cracking saves and a strong defensive line playing a very good offside trap.
Towards the end tiredness began to set in and the local boys didn’t quite have enough in the tank to keep up and fell short of the points to a very good Storrington side.
There is lots of positives taken from today’s game and also lots to work on in preparation for the new season, but overall a great game with the Rangers having 3 players making their debuts.

What a weekend ⚽️

This weekend The Ryde Saints Rangers competed in the SCI football tournament held at sea close park in Newport which saw teams from not just the island but across the country compete over the 2 days.

Early in the season we made the decision to enter 2 teams for this event to allow more of our young boys the experience of an official tournament. This also allowed us to offer 3 of the Ryde Saints Tornados u10’s to join us too.

A weekend of highs and lows but ultimately some some great football played by both our teams.
The boys did the club and the colours proud with some competitive football being played against some strong opposition and some great goals scored over the weekend.

A bit of confusion from the organiser disrupted the flow of play on the Saturday but the boys shrugged this off and overall I think the verdict was a great weekend of football.

Today was topped off (just before the heavens really opened) by the presentation by footballing England legend Stuart Pearce which saw all of our players receive their medals up on stage.
