Not the Hollywood finish we hoped for — so close, yet so far. A tough one to take.

Congratulations to WKR on retaining the Super Cup — well deserved.

Really proud of the lads’ efforts today. We deserved more, but it was great to see everyone back together again.

In 2005 a group of year 10 Ryde High School mates created a team called Ryde Sports Beach Soccer Club.

We got battered every time we played as we were far too young to be playing competitive mens football back then.

20 years later:
Hundreds of players
Thousands of goals
A few big upsets
A couple of medals

Tomorrow the same group of lads with a few new and old faces returning will be playing together again.

Introducing: Isaac Turner (S**g)

Here he is...The one you've been waiting for.

S**g has been club captain and an ever present in the Ryde Sports team since the beginning. Another co-founder of the club his impact on the team and those around him is unmatched. A highly recognisable individual due to his robust playing style and no-nonsense defending has made him a real problem for traditional beach soccer opponents he has faced over the years. Many forwards still have nightmares about the 'Widow Maker' from his long haired viking-esque approach to beach soccer.

At times he has been used effectively as a target man and make shift centre forward showing not only his versatility but also his willingness to put the club first. A true one club man that bleeds Ryde Sports BSC.

We are proud to have had him as our Captain and look forward to seeing him lift silverware again in the future.
