P&D- Mixed Masters - Division 2: Ryde Lawn 2 travelled to Swanmore today (1/9) for their last game of the summer season. It was good tennis and a tough match. Our second pair pulled out all the stops to make it one rubber all after the first round. With it all to play for, battle commenced. Excellent tennis was played and again ended with two rubbers each, giving RL a losing draw. Well played and a big thank you to the team - Karl, Stu, Em and Kahren.

P&D - Mixed Masters - Division 2- RL3 V Warsash 3:
Our team played away at Warsash today (19/8). A very close fought match justified taking a risk on the weather. Helen and Stuart gave of their best but were overwhelmed by a very strong number one pairing. However a brave comeback from our number two couple, Claire and Tony kept us in the hunt; by winning a 10 point championship tie-break. So, all rested on the final rubbers. Ours ladies fought hard but lost out in a close contest, whereas the men won their match. Final score a creditable losing draw. Thank you Clare, Stuart, Helen and Tony.

Hants - Men’s- Division 3A: The men’s first team had a crunch relegation match at home to Wellow last Saturday (15/8). Calling on the big guns, the mighty Lawn were able to call on US tennis scholarship star Arthur Attrill, playing alongside a very accomplished James Scully-Syer, with another up and coming star in Toby Trotman alongside the imposing Gordon Baker. Whoever won the match would stay up, with the losing team facing relegation. Needless to say the Lawn came out on top with a dominant 4-0 win to stay in Hants Div 3A next season, well done guys!

P&D-Mens - Division 2 -RL1 V Chichester 2: A good win for the men’s first team on the road at Chichester (9/8). In scorching heat and on artificial clay, the pairings of Dan Jones with Gordon Baker, and Justin Biggs with Ed Stolliday, the Lawn wrapped up a relatively comfortable 4-0 away win, followed by a very cold beer after!
P&D - Ladies - Division 2 - RL1 V Aldingbourne: RL 1 Ladies played the current league leaders, Aldingbourne at home (15/8) on a hot,hot ☀️day. We managed to take the team to a championship tie break and to secure the best score from all the teams in the league 👏so far. Unfortunately no points for the scoreboard but good competitive tennis was played by all. Thank you to Clare, Andrea, Carrie and Sarah for representing our team and club superbly. 🙌👍👏🎾
P&D - Ladies Masters - Division 1 - RL1 V Avenue 1:
RYDE LAWN LADIES MASTERS – WHAT A TEAM! 🎾🏆. RL 1 went into battle at Avenue( 18/1), fighting to hold on to our position as league leaders.
Sarah & Jackie were absolute grass-court warriors. The rallies were long, tough and hard-fought, but our amazing duo battled their way to two fantastic rubbers.
Then came Kahren, with her incredible brick-wall mentality – refusing to give in and helping secure that all-important third rubber. The result… an AMAZING 3-point victory! 🏆🎾
What a season, what a battle and, most importantly, what a team! I have to admit, I am one extremely proud Ladies Masters Captain. 💙🎾
