Join us at The Catch Penny (Fitzwilliam) for our end of season presentation & celebration night on Friday 23rd October.

A great night in store hosted by Rhubarb Radio’s Ian “Jaffa” Jefferson.

We have some generous raffle prizes from Derbyshire Cricket, Forge Distillery and Blacker Hall Farm to name a few.

As well as celebrating the season we’ll also be supporting Craig Warren and his bike ride to raise funds for the Jackson Hope Foundation.

So as the 2026 season comes to a close all that’s left to say is a massive thank you to everyone for the help and support in 2026.
To the players that give up their time on a Saturday to represent our club on the field.
Ed Kaye for captaining the side. Twenty two weeks is a hard slog with no break, checking availability, balancing the side and calling the shots on a Saturday. Andy Plant for his role as vice captain, helping Ed with his thoughts on team selection and captaining the side twice this year.
Sarah Learmouth for doing the scoring. Donna Johnston for sorting food out on a Saturday and any admin we’ve had. Luke Spe and Blake Tams for the grounds work. Lucy Anne for selling merchandise and helping with social media. And to Maria Dot Grau for her fantastic match day photos.

Well we did what we needed to do, an 8 wicket win over Nostell.
We won the toss and asked Nostell to have a bat. Jack got the breakthrough with the score on 13. Luke and Joe took out the rest of the top order with fine spells of bowling picking up 2 wickets a piece. Jack came back into the attack to take 2 more wickets and finish with 3-12. There were wickets too for Matt and Blake. Wrapping up the innings for 48.
Despite losing Sean early doors and Jack with the score on 36. Joe 31 not out and George 13 saw us home in 12 overs.
Attentions moved to what was going off at Sykehouse. The result there meant we finish the season in 2nd. On reflection another really good season a 2nd place finish and a cup win.
Plenty to celebrate at the presentation night on 23rd October. 🏏🏏🏏

Here we go, our line up for the season finale at Nostell.
We want to finish the season on a high. A win is needed and results elsewhere going our way to finish as champions. What ever happens it’s been another wonderful season.
