Today was supposed to start with me sipping champagne in the business class lounge.
After all, I'm flying solo for the first time in years.
No kids.
No dogs.
No husband.
Just me and two whole weeks of freedom.
So yesterday I decided to treat myself and upgrade to business class.
Except...
When I got to the airport this morning, I discovered the booking hadn't actually gone through.
Whether that's technology, brain fog, or a powerful combination of both, the jury is still out.
So instead of champagne in the lounge, I found myself ordering a Starbucks coffee.
The barista asked my name.
"Joanna," I said.
A few minutes later they handed me this.
Jellana.
Honestly?
Between the failed upgrade and my new identity, I think this cup perfectly sums up my day.
But do you know what?
I'm still getting on the plane.
I'm still having my adventure.
So cheers from Jellana đ„âïž

I didnât realise how much I had dimmed myself⊠until I looked back.
Not in a dramatic, overnight way.
But slowly.
Swapping bright for black.
Choosing âsafeâ over expressive.
Wanting to blend in instead of be seen.
And I told myself it didnât matter.
That I just âcouldnât be botheredâ anymore.
But that wasnât it.
It was how I felt in my body.
Flat.
Uncomfortable.
Disconnected.
And when your body feels like thatâŠ
of course you start to shrink yourself.
This is the part of Perimenopause no one really talks about.
Not just the symptoms.
But the subtle way it chips away at how you see yourself.
How you show up.
How much of you the world gets to see.
But hereâs what I want you to knowâ
You havenât lost yourself.
Youâre just exhausted.
And no one showed you how to support your body through this.
And when you do?
That version of youâthe one who felt confident, expressive, fully herselfâ
she comes back.
Not overnight.
But steadily. Gently. In a way that actually lasts.
And yesâŠ
you get to fall back in love with yourself along the way. đ

Loved this conversation with Meera Boghal đ
We talked about something I care so deeply aboutâŠ
how Pilates can support our bodies through menopause.
In this episode, we covered:
â Why Pilates is so supportive for recovery and hormonal health
â Why breathwork is my number one recommendation.
â The impact of alignment on both your physical and emotional wellbeing.
We covered so much (and could have gone on for hours)⊠itâs well worth a listen.

Not everything in perimenopause is a problem to solve.
But thatâs what it can start to feel likeâŠ
Fix your sleep.
Fix your energy.
Fix your moods.
Fix your body.
And before you know it â
youâre constantly working on yourself.
Trying to feel better.
Trying to get back to who you were.
But hereâs the part we donât talk aboutâŠ
Where did the joy go?
When did everything become something you should do
instead of something you want to do?
Because this stage of life isnât just about feeling better.
Itâs about feeling like YOU again.
Not the version of you thatâs managing everythingâŠ
but the one who actually enjoys her life.
So tell meâŠ
If you had a day just for you â no expectations, no âshouldsâ â
What would you do for fun?
