🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 Community Cohesion 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

Today we were involved in a project in collaboration with and within the chantry community. The day was about bridging the gap for our youth, creating spaces for them to feel heard, represented and unify through sport!

Basketball has always been the driving sport in the chantry community and today it was on show for all to see 🏀🏀

The young guys loved getting into some competitive games with the police who were welcomed into the groups helping to build relationships between enforcement and the next generation, and Active Suffolk captured some fantastic youth voice around sporting provision and accessibility within the chantry community!

Today has been an incredible step in the right direction to break down negative stereotypes associated with our local court and young people. That court has been the heart of our community for decades and it was amazing to see it so full of life again!

Huge thank you to and for being a positive role model and voice within the community and to for hosting us!

⛹🏽‍♂️ SLAM JAM IS BACK ⛹🏽‍♂️

Last year we ran the Slam Jam initiative to promote early engagement in our sport. It was so successful that we were recognised with an award by and we're running it back again!

Slam Jam is a fantastic programme built around growing engagement with our younger ballers, so if you have a child or know someone aged 5-11 that wants to get involved in the sport or improve their skills, the details are below!!

One Sixth Form 2nd Vs Ipswich Sixth Form 🏀

A very competitive and fun afternoon. All the lads showed heart and created an intense game right to the end, with Ipswich edging the win. The atmosphere was incredible.

It was so great to have two separate programmes run by Coach Ty come together and compete. Basketball is the tool, but this has always been about creating spaces for the young guys to express and grow. Both teams had smiles at the end and we're already looking forward to the return fixture 👀

Massive thanks to both teams, and all the others involved that help make it such a great afternoon!

Last week we were lucky enough to be invited into Twinkletoes Pre-School in Trimley St. Martin to deliver a Lil Dribblerz session!

Gina and her staff were incredibly supportive of the session and the children's engagement. The whole setting felt incredibly welcoming.

Our session started off with a story - 'We're going on a bear hunt', followed by activities themed around the story that support foundational skills for basketball such as balance, agility and coordination!

🏀 Coaching Announcement 🏀

Thrilled to announce that I am going to be a pathway coach for new U11 Aspire Programme.

The new U11 age group extends the first stage of Basketball England’s Talent Pathway, engaging players from age eight to 15, with the long-term objective of supporting progression towards England and Great Britain representation. The programme is supported by FIBA’s Youth Development Fund.

“3x3 is the ideal introduction for young players, offering constant involvement, more touches and greater decision-making in a fun, supportive environment. Aspire U11s will help develop confident, creative players while laying the foundations for future England and GB stars.” (Basketball England 3x3 Development Manager, Meehra Gorasia).

Aspire U11s: Purpose

✅ Introduce young players to 3x3 principles in a fun, engaging environment

✅ Support skill development, teamwork and game awareness

✅ Identify potential without pressure, selection bias or early exclusion

A fun-filled toddler basketball group designed to build motor skills, balance, and core strength—laying the perfect foundations for future ballers!

📚 Each session is led by Ty Burnett, a Professional Coach & EYFS Practitioner, blending basketball basics with popular children’s books to spark a love for both sport and literature.

A year of Growth 📈⬆️

What a year. Going through these pictures gave us time to reflect on the relationships, friendships, and community that we have built this past year. This year the focus was simple; create a space for ballers of all ages which is built on positive reinforcement and encouragement. We have achieved so much more than we could have dreamed in just a year which has made us hungry to create more opportunities and continue to grow our wonderful community!

2025 Milestones:

⭐ Grew to 70+ members from ages 6 - Mens
⭐ Had members attend their first ever county trials!
⭐ Lucky enough to coach a fantastic group of lads at the ICT's
⭐ Began building a basketball programme with

⭐ Started our collaborative camps with - unreal vibes!
⭐Created 4 competitive teams from u13s to Mens
⭐ Seen tremendous growth across all our 1:1 clients!
