I would love to hear comments from practitioners about how yoga has helped them to find freedom of expression, thoughts and connection to their truth. Ultimately, it can be a tool to release inner conflicts which manifest in the body, and in doing so, exposes the gifts that we never knew we had of aspects of self that had been forgotten but could be an resource at this time of life. It's the original transformational tool which can keep reminding us of our values and beliefs which make us human.

Its within the space of the mind that creative thoughts, reflections and solutions can be found. First, remove tension from the body; Second find a comfortable position to be still. Last, watch thoughts come and go without judgement. You might even fall asleep. Thats good. The mind and body are just re-balancing.

Isn't it amazing how many of us over use the left side of the brain to plan outcomes for conflicting solution - Head or Heart

And even the best of us often the missing piece is something much more fundamental:

BREATHE

This gives us space and a reset.

In this reset we can access a different perspective.

From a new perspective we can gain an overview to see the complex interconnections of problems. See the way forward.

And this happens because:

When the nervous system is constantly in a stress response, the mind narrows.
Creativity drops.
Sleep suffers.
Decision-making becomes reactive.

Traditional pranayama - trains the body and mind to return to a more balanced state — increasing calm while maintaining energy and focus to support people who are constantly negotiation complex problems.

And the greatest benefit is Pranayama means - to extend the life-force energy. So rather than waste the energy negotiation between the head and heart, extend the breathe, stabilise the nerves, access a new perspective and see things in a different way.

A senior leader I worked with told me something surprising.

“From the outside everything looked successful…
but inside my mind never switched off until one day I simply could not get out of bed. I thought I was having a heart attack”

The person had been experiencing:

• poor sleep
• low energy
• mental noise
• feeling isolated with big decisions

Instead of choosing the traditional root for mental wellness, this person made a conscious decision to try something different. And from their background in sports, they know the breathing techniques — inparticular from traditional yogic breathing could be the way forward

The shift?

✔ calmer nervous system
✔ deeper sleep
✔ clearer thinking in complex situations
✔ more space for creative decisions

It surprised me that the thing that made a huge difference:

“I don’t feel alone inside my own mind anymore. I have more energy and make better, quicker decisions.”

One thing struck me whilst learning yoga and later pranayama.
