Supporting safer, stronger communities 🤝

Everyone Active is committed to creating safe, welcoming spaces for everyone in our communities.

As part of this, we support the Prevent programme, which provides early support to people who may be vulnerable to harmful influences or radicalisation.

Prevent is about support, safeguarding and helping people make positive choices, it is not about punishment or criminal records.

Support can include mentoring, wellbeing support, help with education or employment, online safety advice and more.

Sometimes when we’re a little quieter on social media, it’s because we’re busy doing the work behind the scenes. 🫶🏼

Over the summer, more than 100 children were supported through LeeAnna’s Wish — whether that was with food, school shoes, school clothing or simply making sure families had somewhere to turn when they needed a little extra help.

🍽️ 100 meals were provided for children attending Happy Camp, with a huge thank you to Carmens Caribbean Kitchen for supporting us with these.

👞 School shoes were provided to children who needed them.

🎒 6 boxes of school clothing were distributed to help families prepare for the new school year.

But behind every number is a child and a family.

It’s conversations with parents. Finding out what’s actually needed. Sourcing the right support. Collecting and delivering items. Working with other organisations and local businesses. And sometimes simply saying, “We can help.” 🩷

We couldn’t do that without the people and organisations who continue to support us. Every donation, partnership, volunteer hour and act of kindness helps us pass that support directly into our community.

So when we’re quiet, we’re still here.

We’re just busy doing what LeeAnna’s Wish was created to do. 🩷🧡

One of our fantastic local charities, St Albans Foodbank, has been selected to take part in Tesco's Blue Token Scheme, giving shoppers the opportunity to help fund fresh fruit and vegetables for children in our local area. 🍎🥕🍌

Did you know that 40% of the food parcels provided by the Foodbank go to children? This funding will help ensure local children and families have access to healthy, nutritious food when they need it most.

🚲SOCIAL RIDE! 🚲

This one's family friendly using the Alban Way and other cycle routes and quiet roads to loop around Marshalswick, Jersey Lane and return to the cycle hub via Highfield Park.

The ride will be at an Easygoing pace along a route that is virtually traffic-free and is a good route for adults who simply prefer to cycle traffic-free, as well as for families.

📢 Car Boot Sale Postponed

Unfortunately, the Car Boot Sale organised by LeeAnna's Wish CIC, which was due to take place at Cottonmill Community & Cycle Centre on Monday 31st August, has been postponed until further notice.

We appreciate that many of you may have been looking forward to the event and apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.
