Feel the rapture of being alive on our messy, beautiful earth through art & science.

Reminiscing about the Wildflower, Pollinators and Abundance evening nature retreat at The Leys Nature Reserve I ran with friend and colleague Ruth Sneath a couple of weeks ago.

Together we drew with flowers in our own concertina sketchbooks, swept for insects (there were so many grasshoppers!), and let the wildflower meadow remind us that what we've achieved this year is more than enough.

It was beautiful to take a moment to be with the wildflower meadow, learn from its abundance and generosity, feel calm and relaxed as we drew with flowers, appreciated the beauty and wonder of insects and seeds. We left feeling grounded, whole and filled with gratitude for this earth.

My next nature retreat is an autumn Earth & Root gathering to be held at on 16 October 2026. We'll be making mud paint, journalling outside amongst the Autumn leaves, considering what it means to let go and release and making our own take-home bath soak ritual kits.

And it doesn't all have to lie on your shoulders to "fix" and "save" the planet. We are dealing with forces much bigger than 1 human.

If my relationship with nature has taught me anything it's that we are all connected for better or worse. And we are not alone in seeking change.

What was telling was the near radio silence on the group after I posted this. And I understand - climate change is such a big thing to sit with... And yet here we are in the messy place all together. Doing what we can, imprefectly.

Let us imagine and then create more loving worlds starting with ourselves, the land, our loved ones and our local communities. Let us see where it takes us, what will evolve and sprout from healing creation upon the destruction.

This is what we explore in the Joy Adventure in my year-long programme Rewild Your Soul and it is beautiful.

🌼 Let me know in the comments which of these thoughts resonated the most.
