Come along this weekend… It looks great! 🤩🧡

We have a stand there too so come and say hello 👋 take part in a challenge where you can win prizes, you can chat with our team about personal training, group training and nutrition coaching, and we are also doing a bodyweight interval training session at 3.15pm 💪🏼

10 OR LESS FEST — QUICK FAQ 👇

Thinking about coming over this weekend? Here’s the need-to-know.

❓ So… what actually is 10 or Less Fest?
Part music festival, part market and part local discovery fair. The whole idea is simple: there’s loads happening locally that we often don’t know exists. And everyone attending comes from within 10 miles or less than Bodrhyddan Hall.

Across the weekend you’ll find live music, local food and drink, independent makers, clubs, societies, charities, demos, workshops, family activities and plenty of things to actually have a go at.

🎸 What’s happening?
As well as Bodrhyddan's first ever 5k run, expect live music, hobbies and clubs, nature and wellbeing groups, fitness activities, animal organisations, family and youth groups, volunteering opportunities, local makers and traders, food and drink and lots more.

🌦 What if it rains?
We’re in North Wales so we’re not scared of a bit of weather.

The event will go ahead in normal Welsh conditions and much of the area is sheltered. Some demonstrations and activities will be outdoors, so please dress for the weather and wear sensible footwear.

If you’re joining something like Pilates, soundbath or another floor-based activity, bring a mat or something comfortable to sit or lie on.

👶 Is it good for kids?
100%. We have activities for mums and babies with MiniMozarts and children can join the event scavenger hunt led by the Girl Guides. Our woodland fairy / troll walk is also included in the ticket price.

🐕 Are dogs welcome?
Yes, well-behaved dogs are very welcome, but please keep them on leads.

🍕 Is there food and drink?
Absolutely. Come hungry. There’ll be a selection of food traders, refreshments and a bar available throughout the event. If you fancy a drink, head over to our bar. No alcohol purchased externally will be allowed on the site.

🏰 Is Bodrhyddan Hall open?
Yes. The Hall will be open for guided tours, with tours leaving at 1, 2 and 3pm. Make your way to the front gate to purchase tickets. Please note these are limited!

🚗 Is there parking?
Yes. Parking is available and we’ll prioritise accessible parking where possible, although spaces may be limited at busy times.

🚌 Can I come by public transport?
Yes, the 35/36 Circular stops at Bodrhyddan Hall and the cycle route runs straight past the gate.

♿ Is the event accessible?
Most of the event is accessible to wheelchair users, although Bodrhyddan is a historic estate and some areas do have uneven ground.

🎟 Do I need to book?
Advance booking is recommended.

Saturday and Sunday tickets are sold separately, so please make sure you select the correct day when booking.

🕙 What time is it on?
Saturday 12 September — 10am–6pm
Sunday 13 September — 10am–5pm

Saturday - https://bodrhyddan-events.co.uk/tc-events/10-or-less-saturday-sept-12th/
Sunday - https://bodrhyddan-events.co.uk/tc-events/10-or-less-sept-13th/

Activities start from around 10:45am, with live music from 12 noon.

🪑 Anything worth bringing?
A camping chair or picnic blanket is a good shout if you want to settle in for the music. And if you’re planning on joining any of the wellbeing or fitness sessions, bring a mat or trainers for the 5k run.

💚 Most importantly…
Don’t just walk around and watch.

Talk to people. Ask questions. Try something. Join in.

That’s what 10 or Less Fest is really about.

ETL x NEO - Sunday Social Run Club 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻🧡

We’re doing it again 🙌🏼

We had such a good time at our last one a few weeks ago, we’re teaming up with Neo again this Sunday morning for another Sunday Social Run Club!

Whether you’re a regular runner, getting back into running, working towards your first 5K, or just fancy getting out for a run and a chat with some lovely people, you’re welcome.

And this time, one of our team will be heading out on a 2-3km walk at the same time too, so there’s an option for everyone.

As always, it’s good company, good energy and a pace we can chat at and that suits everyone. No pressure, no racing, just getting out, moving our bodies and enjoying it together.

Then we’ll head back to Neo for coffee, food and a social afterwards ☕️🫶🏼

When & where:
Sunday 13th September
8.30am
NEO, Rhuddlan
Free to join & no booking required

Comment below if you’re coming👇🏼 Tag a friend you’d love to run or walk with, or come along solo and meet new friends 🫶🏼

We’re SO excited to see you there! 🧡

Ankle mobility can make a difference to how well you can move.

You might notice this when you are squatting, struggling with depth and keeping your heels on the ground.
You may also notice this whilst running or walking, where you have less stability or control when landing or changing direction on different surfaces. Or general stiffness in day to day movements.

I’ve put together 3 exercises for you to follow along and save 💾 If you want more, send me a message!

Val Zebrokova

Elevated knee over toe (on a bench)

Focus on driving your knee over your toes whilst keeping your heel down. Slow, controlled movement. This one feels stretchy, you want to hold that end position to improve the range, and come back out of that position to help you build full movement and strength.

Incline calf raise

The incline allows you to work through your range movement whilst strengthening the calf and ankle. You can do this body weight or weighted to progress the movement.

High knee single leg pogo hops

More dynamic drill that helps to challenge your ankle to absorb and produce force, whilst maintaining stability and control on one leg. Think springy when doing this drill, it’s all about low contact time with the floor.

Today I overheard something that made me extremely proud to be an ETL coach…

As I was setting up the next superset for Classics, a couple of our members got talking.

One was sharing how coming to Classics has helped improve her confidence, made day-to-day tasks feel easier and reduced her back pain, so she can keep doing the things she loves without having to think twice about them.

Explaining that “joining Classics is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”

Hearing that genuinely meant a lot.

Because this is exactly why we created Classics for over 60s.

Helping people build strength, improve their balance and move with more confidence, so everyday life feels easier and they can keep doing the things they love.

And that approach isn’t unique to Classics. It carries through everything we do at ETL, whether you train with us 1:1 or as part of our Small Group Personal Training.

Hearing stories about the difference that training is making to people’s lives is incredibly rewarding.

Classics has become a popular group and our 10:30 sessions now have a waiting list, but we do have a small number of spaces available in our 11:30 groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

So, if you’d like to work on your strength, balance and mobility as you get older, or you have a friend or family member over 60 who might benefit from joining us, perhaps Classics could make a difference for you too.

There are options to train once or twice a week, and we offer a taster session if you’d like to come along, meet us and see what Classics is all about before committing.

If 1:1 training would suit you better, or you’re under 60, I also currently have space for two new clients, with a range of training times available.
