Hi, I’m Jess 👋🏼founder and mama to three little nature babes: Blossom, Ivy and River 🌱🌷🌿

As a qualified English Language teacher with 5 years’ experience in the independent sector, I’ve witnessed and studied just how fundamental early literacy and language development is. Over time, it becomes so clear which children have been immersed in stories and encouraged to read for pleasure from such a young age, it’s something that stays with them for life.

The Story Garden has been created from both my professional experience and my life as a mum. I wanted to build a calm, welcoming space where little ones can begin their journey with books, and where parents can slow down, and enjoy those special moments together.
Because at the heart of it all, reading with your child isn’t just about learning, It’s connection. It’s calm. It’s imagination. It’s pure magic ✨

I’m so excited to create a space where we can share that magic together, building a love of stories, supporting our little ones, and making new friendships along the way 📚

Team Kearney! Running our small business has been an amazing adventure so far. We're thrilled to see The Nest thriving! Finding a routine to keep the studio looking its best has been a juggle, but with lots of help, we're getting there. As a family-run business, we love sharing this journey with our girls... even the cleaning duties 😂. ❤️

👋🏼Welcome Sam! A qualified teacher of 8 years, he has a vast amount of knowledge and experience in nurturing young people. Recently nominated for Best Youth Musical by NODA, he excels in creating and producing concerts, showcases and musicals.

Shine Theatre Academy will begin to develop a community passionate about the arts and share this within the local community through regular performances. Classes are initially for ages 11-18 on Monday evenings and Sunday.
