*** Staff Announcement ***

Good Afternoon.

I will be leaving Outwood Academy on Friday June 20th.
Having worked at the school for just over 19 years I have had the privilege to meet many fantastic people who have booked in and used the Leisure Centre during those years and I am still in contact with many of them.
I would like to take this time to thank everyone who has used our Leisure Centre from that first Monday back in February 2006 and those who still use our facilities. I would also like to thank all of the staff I have had the pleasure of working with in the centre, from our days running Climbing and Archery sessions to the summers when we had our 2 day sports events. Without the support of those staff members we wouldn't have a facility that is still being used by our community today.
Moving forward, I hope you will continue to book sessions and use the facilities we have on offer. Toby and Lewis will be available to discuss your booking requirements and try their best to accommodate you if they are able to.

*** Sunny Day Photos ***

After the recent rejuvenation of our astro turf pitch, we took the opportunity to take some photos whilst the sun was out.
Those who play here regularly will agree that the playing surface is much better.

**** What a difference new sand makes ****

Our astro turf was closed last week as we had our pitch rejuvenated, the process was to completely remove all of the sand on the pitch, clean the playing surface (carpet) and introduce 11 tons of fresh new sand to the pitch.
Those who will be playing on the pitch this week will feel like they are walking across a new living room carpet.
We currently have a lot of availability throughout the week and we are already taking bookings for the upcoming winter months for club training. If you are looking for a quality, safe playing surface for your training needs call in and take at look at ours. We also recently replaced our main goalposts and replaced the netting across our 5v5 goals too.

*** Winter bookings coming to an end ***

Spring is almost upon us and we move closer to the end of our current Winter training bookings, both indoor and out.
I would like to thank all of the clubs and groups that have used the astro turf and sports hall for their Winter training sessions.
If you are looking to join us again next Winter, let me know as soon as you are able to so that you retain those key time slots all clubs are looking for.

**** Our Astro Turf is Open Tonight ****

Just to let all of our clients know that the astro turf is open for training sessions tonight.
Massive thanks to the in-house grounds maintenance team who have cleared the pitch so that it is ready for play.
We have some 8pm until 9pm availability if your normal venue is not open or if you are looking for an additional training session during the week..

THE PITCH IS OPEN TONIGHT AND IS PLAYABLE.

* Our Astro turf will be closed until further notice due to the current weather conditions. We are sorry if this impacts on your training sessions but we have to keep our users safe whilst onsite.

*** It's been a BUSY Christmas ***

We have been busy with our contractors getting our Leisure Centre ready for 2025.
With us not being in a position to upgrade our Astro playing surface at this time, it is important for us to keep the Leisure Centre looking as fresh as it can be. I hope you will agree that it does look better, although it's not finished yet.

We have a couple of additional training slots on our Astro turf starting next Monday 6th January 2025, If you are looking to play football after work or your club needs a venue to train, give us a call on 01744 677505 (after 5pm) or email me at: [email protected]

Our freshly painted Fitness room will be back open on January 4th, for those who feel that they enjoyed Christmas and the New Year celebrations a little too much.
We are also open on Saturday 4th January for the Cricket indoor Winter training sessions.

Our fitness room is back open from this evening, Friday nights issues have been addressed and we look forward to seeing you back in tonight. once again, we are sorry for the inconvenience of having to close last Friday.

*** Update on closing dates for the holidays ***

Just to let everyone know what the closing dates are for the upcoming Christmas holidays.
We will close on Friday 20th December at 10pm and reopen on Saturday January 4th for our indoor "tots" football training with the coaching staff at Haydock JFC.
That will be followed by the start of the indoor training for both earlestown and haydock cricket clubs.

*** Good Morning ***

As expected, the heavy rain over the weekend has cleared the Astro turf and the pitch is playable.
Our bookings can resume their Winter training from this evening. We do have an 8pm-9pm time slot that has become available if any of the current clubs are looking to put on a training session for one of your older age groups. It is on Thursday evening.
