Now that we have a bigger network, I'll start using Facebook again. Please share far and wide!

The second collection from Holy Cross Church and SVP affiliates in the area has been delivered to Caritas in Lviv. Some of the wheelchairs are already in use with needy elderly and disabled clients.

A big 'THANK YOU' to all those thoughtful and generous souls who have made contributions in cash or in kind to achieve this wonderful act of solidarity with the long-suffering people of Ukraine

Shown in the picture, Caritas Lviv general manager, Vasyl Zelenko and social care project manager, Iryna Starovechka, without whose help and support, none of this would have been possible.

During my visit to Lviv in Ukraine I was fortunate to visit the 'Unbroken' project, where I was shown around the facility by assistant director, Vladislav Sihovskyy.

They use state of the art technology developed by Ukrainian engineers in collaboration with international partners to manufacture a range of robotic prosthetic limbs for amputees.

The veterans are then given training and support to help them integrate back into everyday life. A truly stunning example of Ukrainian resilience, resourcefulness and grit!

It was a great pleasure and honour to meet our new friends in Lviv in Western Ukraine and to drop off all the donations from our Holy Cross parishioners and others. I was made very welcome, especially by Vasyl Zelenko and Iryna Starovetska, here, who manage the humanitarian project here for Caritas-Lviv.org. The first trip over, I certainly hope it will not be the last.
