Whilst the team waits for our next race weekend to come around, we are using the time to finish off a couple of side projects. We are finally making progress with version 3 of the camera mount 😁, with another pair of ends now in the bag, we should have everything needed to complete this project 🤞

Race weekends whether just testing or racing are always busy ones, at the LPRC’s big race weekend we had both! On the Saturday we were able to do some valuable correlation tests with our newly tweaked propellers, and Sunday we were able to practice our starts with numerous mini races.

We must thank everyone at LPRC, the Officials, Safety Boat Crews, and Volunteers for putting on a very enjoyable weekend.

With no work needed on the boat following last weekend’s running, it was time to get back to the workshop and finish off those ‘nice to have’ projects. So over this weekend work on the prototype camera mount has continued, and the first half of the new rear cowl mould has been finished.

It does look like another slight redesign of the camera mount will be needed🤯, not because of the concept, but making it is proving more complicated than hoped. Oh well onto designing version 3.

A weekend that promised so much was ultimately ruined by Dave turning up 🤬, Storm Dave that is 😆…

We did manage to get one session completed, which was basically a shake down for both Jamie and the boat, and if other sessions had gone ahead it would have been the benchmark to monitor any performance gains.

As always a big ‘thank you’ goes out to all the Officials, Safety and Tow Boat crews, Launch Vehicle Drivers and all other volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure we can go boat racing.

Unfortunately no one can control the weather, so we now look towards our next test session which may very well mean a road to Carr Mill Dam in May 🚤🏁

The team are happy to be back on the water with our first test session of the year. Unfortunately the weather eventually got the better of everyone today due to the wind strengthening throughout the day. We will try again tomorrow with the first round of the British Masters Championship. 🚤🏁

Jamie Atlee is one of Britain’s rising forces in GT30 powerboat racing, combining technical precision, race craft maturity, and a relentless competitive edge. Jamie began his racing journey in 2017 and quickly established himself as a standout talent within junior and senior categories.

Progressing through the GT15 class, Jamie secured two Club Championships (2019, 2021) and captured the 2021 GT15 National Championship, marking him as one of the most promising young drivers in the UK. His transition into GT30 continued that upward trajectory, culminating in the 2025 GT30 Club Championship and an impressive double runner up finish in both the GT30 National Championship and GT30 Sprint Championship the same year.

Jamie’s breakthrough onto the international stage came in 2025, where he delivered strong performances against the world’s best, finishing 6th at both the GT30 World Championship and European Championship. These results cemented his reputation as a driver capable of competing — and contending — at the highest level.

Racing with the number 18, Jamie pilots a Tintorera/L7 hull powered by Tohatsu, backed by a dedicated team and a strong group of sponsors including Reilly’s, East Coast Fibreglass, Hotchkiss Westwell, and Degraaf Trailers.
In 2026, Jamie will contest all four rounds of the SWSC British Masters Championship, while also targeting major international honours at the GT30 World Championship and GT30 European Championship. With proven speed, consistency, and a growing list of accolades, Jamie continues to build momentum as one of the sport’s most exciting young competitors.

With our first visit to the water being only 3 weekends away, the team are now at full speed getting the final touches sorted and the boat ready to go 😁. That included making the final part of our fuel tank upgrade, we can’t wait to see if we have improved the boat’s performance with our subtle modifications 🤞🚤🏁
