Birth can come with a lot of information, opinions and very strong feelings from people who are not, in fact, the one giving birth!

So this Friday, Siobhan Rae of The Mothership Antenatal is hosting a dedicated Birth Prep & Hypnobirthing day at The Humble Hub: a supportive space to learn, ask questions and prepare for birth with a little more confidence.

Siobhan is a birth doula, hypnobirthing teacher and perinatal trauma practitioner and her approach is centred around informed choice and self-trust rather than promising one particular kind of “perfect” birth.
Her teaching explores the mind-body connection, birth physiology, relaxation techniques, comfort and pain-relief options, the phases of labour, birth preferences and ways to navigate unexpected turns.

The aim isn’t to give you another rigid set of rules to follow. It’s to help you understand your options, feel better equipped to make decisions and head towards birth feeling more informed, supported and connected to yourself!

➡️ There’s something incredibly valuable about an Eastern practice that asks us to slow down in a world that constantly encourages us to speed up!

This Sunday, are looking forward to welcoming Sigrid Selzer to The Humble Hub for an Introduction to Shaolin Qigong, an ancient Chinese practice combining slow, intentional movement, breath and focused awareness to cultivate energy throughout the body.

In the West, we’re often taught to push harder, do more and find extra energy from somewhere.

Qigong offers a different approach. Rather than forcing the body, it invites us to work with it, build strength, flexibility, balance and focus while also creating space for the nervous system to settle and the mind to become quieter.

Across the three-hour workshop, Sigrid will guide you through traditional Shaolin Qigong practices including Postures of Power, The Tiger Comes Down the Mountain and Attack in All Directions, helping you explore how movement, breath and attention can work together to support both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Whether you’re completely new to Qigong or already have experience, this is a rare chance to spend time with a deeply rooted Eastern practice and discover a different way of building energy!

✨ FREE SESSION ✨
This Wednesday, we are hosting a FREE introductory Tai Chi class with Chris Hamblin - a chance to step out of the rush and explore an ancient Eastern movement practice built around presence, balance and flow.

Tai Chi brings together movement, breath, rhythm and focused awareness. The Long Yang Form has a beautiful, almost meditative quality to it. The body stays in motion while the mind is invited to become quieter and more centred.

There’s structure, symbolism and imagery drawn from animals, birds and nature, making it a practice that can support not only balance and wellbeing, but creativity and a deeper connection to the way we move.

During this free introductory session, Chris will guide you through some simple Chi Kung movements, share a little background to the practice and demonstrate Part 1 of the Long Yang Form.

No previous experience needed!
