Incredible performance from our 2XV team in their first UK IGR LEAGUE match of the season (especially after a late night for most of the team) 🏉

Oscar Garland was back of the match and Jack Mitchell was forward of the match. Loads of tries scored across the pitch and Joe Vincent converting six of them 🙌🖤

Fantastic effort all round and our next 2XV match is away against Liverpool Tritons RUFC on 5th December.

Our players are putting the heels away till Easter and back to a double match day today. Our 2XVs are on their way to play the Sheffield Vulcans as part of the UK IGR LEAGUE whereas our 1XVs are at home playing against Stockport Rugby Club

Good luck to everyone playing 🙌

To mark Black History Month Spartans player, Alex Obiorah, has picked five black rugby stars who changed the game. From 1870s Edinburgh to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Few photos courtesy of Stories By Zak of our very wet trip to Edinburgh for the annual Caledonian Thebans RFC clinic ⛈️

Storm Boelo may have put a stop to the rugby, but it didn’t stop our team from making the most of their time in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🖤

This October is UK Black History Month, and in honour of that we’ve got something a little different today, which is a set of film and book recommendations from 2XV co-captain Tayo Adewole. The following recommendations focus on Black and LGBTQ+people, who sit at the intersection of communities who have always been immensely influential on the culture we live and breathe.

Huge thank you to Tayo for putting this list together! Comment with your favourite Black LGBTQ+ art 🤎

Huge shout out to our team who played during Storm Boele this weekend in Littlebrough. Absolutely valiant effort to secure a win in far from ideal conditions 🙌

Our captains, Rob White and James Hainsworth, stayed cool calm and collected throughout to lead the team.

Player of the match was Joe Vincent for some solid running and big hits in defence, and the standout forward was Jack Mitchell hitting the ground running hard from his first second on the pitch.

Coach’s player of the match was George Campbell for lots of chopping and changing throughout the match and adapting to whatever was thrown at him.

I hope everyone has warmed up from the weekend and feels immensely proud of themselves

Fancy another one? Our 1XV are away this weekend in Littleborough 🏉

Come down and support the team this Saturday and ✨hopefully✨ watch another win

Thebans clinic may be cancelled due to severe weather, but the party is still on and our team will be making the most of a weekend away in Edinburgh 🏉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thank you to the team, supporters, and volunteers who have come away with Spartans this weekend and a big thank you to Caledonian Thebans RFC for hustling hard to continue the weekend.

Our 1XV team are on a winning streak! Can they keep it up this weekend 👀

Lovely home match against Heaton Moor RUFC last weekend alongside our friendly with Nottingham.

Coach’s player of the match was Will Curvis and players’ player of the match was the one and only RHYNO 🙌

Keep up the incredible work team 🖤🏉
