โ€‹This weekend, Adele competed in the Adult British Gymnastics Championships for the second year running; and absolutely smashed it!

โ€‹Not only did she climb the overall ranks to take 6th place, but she also stole the show with a ๐Ÿญ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฃ๐—Ÿ๐—”๐—–๐—˜ ๐—™๐—น๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ (swipe left)! ๐Ÿฅ‡โœจ

โ€‹But this incredible achievement is only half the story...

โ€‹Adeleโ€™s gymnastics talents are exceptional, but the journey hasnโ€™t been easy. Over the years, sheโ€™s had to rebuild her strength and stability after multiple health conditions flared.

She refused to let that define her. Instead, she defied the odds to keep doing everything that brings her joy, with adaptions along the way...

โ€‹๐Ÿ”‘ ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜? Balance and fun!

While strength training has been a massive piece of the puzzle to help Adele reclaim her power, she makes room for it all: gymnastics, ballroom dance, hiking with friends, and quality family time.

โ€‹Milestones like this always get me thinking about life, choices, and how we show up for ourselves.

โ€‹Sure, my dad could use a shoulder massage every now and then, but heโ€™s active in a way that truly inspires me. Heโ€™s out tending his allotment, tinkering with furniture, and cooking & baking with serious flair.

๐Ÿค โ€‹Itโ€™s a beautiful pause point to ask yourself: ๐˜ž๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ต ๐˜ง๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ ๐˜ฎ๐˜บ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฅ๐˜บ ๐˜ข๐˜ต 70?

Some snaps from today's jaunt up Pendle Hill with Abigailโ€™s Trails.

I proved today that my Fen legs are not practiced on inclines (or the stair master, for that matter!), but we successfully scaled the summit on a windy Sunday morning.

It might be classified as a hill, just 50m short of being an official mountain, but it's pretty imposing all the same. Huge thank you to Abigail's Trails for navigating a great walk! ๐Ÿฅพ

๐Ÿ“– A mid-week morning off, taking the opportunity to move a bit slower.

๐Ÿฅ— Trialling new salad recipes (and having leftovers for lunch and tea!)

โ˜•๏ธ Coffee stops, and then being thoroughly humbled by an intense treadmill intervals session - it's about balance, right?

๐ŸŒธ Wild flowers, and their ability to blossom in less-than-optimal conditions...

You donโ€™t need a fancy backdrop to practice yoga; you just need to show up for yourself.

โ€‹My hope is to guide you toward a state of non-judgement and compassion so that when you need your practice in daily life (on a delayed train, in a traffic jam, or during a confrontational meeting) you don't need a yoga mat.

โ€‹A space is simply what you bring to it.

You can call on this practice anywhere to find steadiness and ease.

โ€‹The build-up has looked a little different this time around... We traded volume for intensity, focusing our energy into weekly sprints, and it's paid off.

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธToday's lunchtime 5k felt strong, steady and capable.

The goal for Saturday? Enjoy the experience, embrace the competition, and step up to the plate with my favourite teammate.

We spend so much energy dreading that first workout back, worrying about lost progress.

โ€‹We forget our bodies are resilient and have done it all before.

โ€‹I was chatting with a friend recently about their return to the gym, and it was a perfect reminder that our minds play tricks on us, enhancing the anxiety and making the task feel much bigger than it actually is.

โ€‹Just like a to-do list, the secret is to make a dent in it. It only gets longer (and harder to start) if you wait.

โ€‹If youโ€™re overthinking a 'first day back,' this is your sign to just show up.

โ€‹Adaption is not failure.

Emma is an absolute hero and one of my dearest friends. She inspires me every day with her resilience and strength.

If you ever see us in the gym, you might think all we do is laugh, dance, and natter... but the space is her sanctuary and in just this year alone, Emma's weight loss is 28kg!

She's gone from training once, to twice, to three times a week, and bringing more and more activity into her life outside the gym too.

This year, Emma's goal was all about functional strength. We're jumping, running, lunging and so much more.

Yes, Emma is on a weight loss journey. But this is so much more than the numbers on the scale. It's about the life that she's creating and experiencing with herself and her loved ones.

Here's to 2026!
