I'm not anti-GLP-1. In certain circumstances, these medications can be genuinely life-changing and even life-saving.
My concern is when people rely solely on the medication without changing any of the behaviours that contributed to the problem in the first place.
Eating less isn't always the same as eating better.
When calorie intake drops dramatically without proper attention to nutrition, protein intake, resistance training, and lifestyle habits, we can see reductions in lean muscle mass, bone density, strength, energy levels, and overall wellbeing.
The goal shouldn't just be weight loss.
The goal should be improving health, body composition, fitness, and creating habits that last long after the medication is gone.
Use the tool if it's appropriate, but don't forget to build the behaviours that support long-term success.
